Little Lyford is the way to do winter. Ski in to this beautiful, remote, but highly civilized place. Great food, interesting company, and relaxed, off the grid recreation. Cross country ski, snowshoe, eat, sleep, stoke the fire, read. Highly recommend! Go prepared (temps were between -19 and 39 last weekend) and you will be rewarded with a great experience. AMC... We really enjoyed our stay in the Little Lyford Cabins. The cabins themselves were comfortable and easy to heat. It was mindblowing to see real and comfortable mattresses, hot showers and such abundant food in the middle of complete wilderness. You can ski in or take a snowmobile (at extra cost, normally), but when trail conditions faltered, the staff were... More

This was our first visit to an AMC lodge, and we will definitely be back for a longer stay. Went on a COLD January weekend, just for an overnight. In the winter, you ski or snowshoe in from the winter parking area. It's a minimum of 6 miles on logging roads, or you can take a longer route on smaller,... More

A wilderness idyll. Not for the pampered or entitled. Wood stove heated cabins, gas lights, wonderful family style dinners, hike or ski in 6 plus miles in the winter; ski on groomed trails or hike on winding logging roads. Read, write, make friends. Nothing could be more wonderful- - - and plan for 15 below in the winter! They allow... More

This is our first trip to Little Lyford, but our second trip to an AMC Wilderness Lodge. Last year, we had a wonderful visit at the same time of year to the Gorman Chairback Lodge. We decided to check out the other AMC lodge, as GC was quickly filling up for an AMC event and we wanted a bit more... More

If you want serene quiet, walking in the woods, never to worry what/where are we going to eat, sitting on a porch relaxing, seeing a moose or fox, this is the place for you. SIMPLE, SERENE & exquisite. Communal dining with like minded peers is refreshing! We loved every minute of it. A TRUE " get away " ! Not... More

This place takes one back to a more laid back and peaceful time. Lake fishing and hiking trails provide breathtaking views and water falls. Meals were freshly prepared, delicious, and staff was gracious and amenable to our every need.

My fiancee and I went up to Little Lyford last weekend (end of September). It was our first time at an AMC lodge. We stayed in a tiny, but perfect two-person cabin, complete with wood stuff, sink with running water, and two propane lights. The cabin had a little porch, too, with chairs. Though there were other cabins around, you... More

Three days and two nights at LLP camps were wonderful. The small cabins are in great shape and perfected fitted to the atmosphere. They take you back to a simpler time without sacrificing anything important. The rehabilitation AMC has invested in LLPC has been great. Food was delicious and plentiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. The ponds are lovely; the... More

Great visit at Little Lyford in the summer. If you like to hike and you like the outdoors, this is the place for you. Helpful staff, beautiful location, delicious food. Also, kayak and canoe use is included with the price.
