We were pleasantly surprised to find we could drive (in the summer) right to the Lodge. The cabins were rustic, but not old. Propane lights and running water in each of the private cabins. They were quite cozy. We found the addition of a layer of egg crate foam helped out the AMC mattresses. If you have been to an... More

Little Lyford was the perfect balance of comfort and outdoor adventure. On the one hand, you are in the middle of a huge chunk of conservation land with abundant hiking, fishing, cycling, and other opportunities (we went in the summer). The setting is pretty remote, accessible via about 30 minutes on a gravel road. On the other hand, each cabin... More

What a great week of unplugging and enjoying nature. The accommodations were wonderful and the food was delicious! Beautiful hikes right out the door of your cabin, ponds for canoeing and a river to cool off in.

The 12-mile drive into LLPC on dirt roads takes you on a gradual trip back in time when the world was a simpler, quieter and more elemental place and the pace of life was more closely inked to natural rhythms. The occasional "Lodges" sign points keeps you going in the right direction, even as you maneuver your vehicle around pot... More

we absolutely loved this place. It is NOT a real hotel, i.e. you need to bring your own sheets and towels, but the food is absolutely amazing. Lunches were pretty standard for packed lunches, but breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing: one day we had pasta, chicken, salad, freshly-baked bread and key-lime pie for dessert; the other day yummy gourmet... Stayed 4 nights here at the end of July, enjoyed everything about it, met some great people, trail workers, staff for the cabins, food was really good and lots of it, especially liked Peggy's gourmet cooking and hospitality. The staff were all great and helpful, had good suggestions for how to spend our time, did a lot of hiking on... More

The cabins are cozy and recently updated, the bathhouse had hot water, the lodge was lovely and the food super. Staff were very accommodating. We enjoyed hiking Gulf Hagas and Indian Mountain. Birdwatching was great. Only complaint was that our outhouse was leaky!

Every June a group of us ranging from 3 to 8 have gone to LLPC for about 5 years now and every time it's like going home. Great Staff, the cabins are rustic yet comfortable, the food is always delicious and plentiful, the scenery-straight from AMC Mag. Great time is always had by all. We have also gone snow shoeing... My wife and I spend 5 days at Little Lyford in early June. It was great. Every day we either hiked, canoed, fished, or just sat around enjoying the spectacular beauty of the place. We had our own little log cabin, and on the cool nights kept warm with the easy to use woodstove. We saw moose, fox, pileated woodpeckers, lots... More

The skiing in the area (and to get to the lodge was spectacular! The lodge was very clean, cozy and they serve excellent meals! We stayed in the bunkhouse, which was perfectly fine and we enjoyed the sauna and hot showers. The staff were friendly and helpful. We explored some of the surrounding area on skis and especially liked the... More
