My family of 5 stayed at Spencer Pond Camps in the Sabatowan in July. It was an experience that will stay with us forever. Even our 17 year old daughter found retreat. We stayed for an entire week, but still we were not ready to return to modern life. We had become accustomed to the quiet, simplicity, and opportunity for... More

We spent 3 nights at Spencer Pond Camps and will go back for more! This is a unique experience - many miles down dirt logging roads to the only camp on Little Spencer Pond, just at the base of Big Spencer Mountain. It is a rustic stay - older cabins with hand pump at sink for water, no electric or... More

We found Spencer Pond Camps in a desire to escape and unplug for a few days - and in our stay we regained a much-needed peace of mind and connection with nature. As a young couple, we stayed in the adorable Cricket Cabin and it was the perfect fit for us. Unplugging from technology was a welcome relief, and we... More

We are familiar with stays in rustic cabins, while all are unique some are just a bit more interesting. We found Spencer Pond Camps to be in this category, its remote location on the rim of the unspoiled serene Spencer Pond & surrounding woods; in-room well pump; wood burning stove; propane lamps; shower bladder; helpful earnest proprietors and even the... My husband and I spent 3 days in The Cricket and loved every minute of it for the Labor Day holiday. We were even able to bring our dog and he had a great time too. We took advantage of the free access to canoes and kayaks. We will miss our morning moose watch and evening canoe rides. There are... More

We enjoed the large Sabotown cabin for two days only and this is the perfect place to really get lost. Loose electricity, loose WiFi and loose your daily routine to reconnect with the four elements water, air, earth and fire. The cabin is hue and nicely decorated with authentic furniture, lots of books and even games for rainy days. All... More

We have been home for 24 hours and I am going through Spencer Pond Camp withdrawl! Our family spent a week in one of the cabins and we left behind much of modern life and spent so much quality time together in nature. We kayaked and canoed and fished in Spencer Pond. We listened to loons and read on the... More

No nonsense rustic cabin well worth visting if you want to get away from all things common today. Kayak, hike, fish, nap, read and relax on the porch. Beautiful pond and setting all the way around. Classic Maine.

We did not stay here but stopped for directions after we had become very lost. I was completely frazzled after getting turned around on the remote dirt roads. The owners were extremely helpful, they took time away from a birthday party they were having in order to give us very detailed instructions to ensure we got back to our place,... More

The Spencer Pond Camp website does a great job explaining what to expect with a visit there. The cabins are comfortable and provide your basic needs. Our family reserved 3 cabins for our recent vacation In August 2014. It was nice to be able to have the privacy and quiet when it was time for our toddler to sleep and... More
