We enjoed the large Sabotown cabin for two days only and this is the perfect place to really get lost. Loose electricity, loose WiFi and loose your daily routine to reconnect with the four elements water, air, earth and fire. The cabin is hue and nicely decorated with authentic furniture, lots of books and even games for rainy days. All... More

We have been home for 24 hours and I am going through Spencer Pond Camp withdrawl! Our family spent a week in one of the cabins and we left behind much of modern life and spent so much quality time together in nature. We kayaked and canoed and fished in Spencer Pond. We listened to loons and read on the... More

No nonsense rustic cabin well worth visting if you want to get away from all things common today. Kayak, hike, fish, nap, read and relax on the porch. Beautiful pond and setting all the way around. Classic Maine.

We did not stay here but stopped for directions after we had become very lost. I was completely frazzled after getting turned around on the remote dirt roads. The owners were extremely helpful, they took time away from a birthday party they were having in order to give us very detailed instructions to ensure we got back to our place,... More

The Spencer Pond Camp website does a great job explaining what to expect with a visit there. The cabins are comfortable and provide your basic needs. Our family reserved 3 cabins for our recent vacation In August 2014. It was nice to be able to have the privacy and quiet when it was time for our toddler to sleep and... More

My group returned for our 3d year to Spencer Pond Camps. It is a very long drive for us, but the peace and beauty here make it well worth the effort. Dana and Christine are wonderful hosts and the rustic but comfortable cabins are perfect. I especially love pumping my own water. And o those lobsters!

Rustic but very comfortable cabin, beautiful surroundings and gracious hosts. Nice to get back to old fashioned basics and enjoy nature. Loved the hand pump and gas lights and the calls of the loons at night.

We had a wonderful time at Spencer Pond Camps. We needed a place to stay in a pinch and we couldn't have been more pleased with our discovery. We loved getting back to nature and the quiet time it gave our family. Christy and Dana were wonderful hosts. When our son left a cherished toy, they graciously sent it back... More

We've done a considerable amount of camping..when I say camping, I mean in lake front camps and Spencer Pond is by far the best experience we've had. Christy and Dana are wonderful hosts..friendly, hospitable and informative..eager to share their intimate knowledge of the Kokadjo and Greenville area.. Lots of critters to be seen..moose, deer, eagles, hawks, rabbits and more.. Brook... More

Spencer Pond Camps provide a look into days gone by, where you can still see the north woods of Maine and it's beauty while living in rustic, comfortable cabins. Each is decorated uniquely, with snowshoes, oil lamps, old signs. Woodstoves provide ambiance as well as a toasty place to warm up on a cool day. We hunted ruffed grouse, plied... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unwind "unplugged and off the grid" in natural beauty, the way life used to be. Built in 1901, Spencer Pond Camps are an authentic and historic Maine Sporting Camp. They are the only cabins on the pond and sit in the shadow of Little Spencer Mountain. 14 miles via dirt roads from our closest neighbors, on an undeveloped and scenic pond. Recognized as an environmental leader, we offer you a choice of six rustic wilderness lakeside housekeeping cabins – each with its own unique personality. The cabins are fully furnished for comfort including screened porches, rocking chairs, woodstoves, libraries and homemade quilts on the beds.Canoes and kayaks are provided free of charge. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere, non-modernized and reminiscent of "Little House in the Big Woods" these cabins will take you back in time. ... more   less
