What a lovely way to spend a few quiet days of tranquility! Beautiful home on the cliff, overlooking the Maine coast. Watch the lobster boats check their traps while enjoying a delicious homemade breakfast or an afternoon glass of wine on the porch deck. Drive a mile to the sandy beach at Reid State Park for a day of sun... More

Our stay at The Mooring was an anniversary gift. We could not have chosen better. Penny is the best, as chef [can't decide if her blueberry scones or blueberry muffins are my favorite], as concierge [all her recommendations for touring or dining were terrific], her inn is meticulously clean and beautifully furnished [she's thought of everything], and, as a new... When my family wanted to get out of Boston, The Mooring was the only place on the Maine coast we would go. The rooms are meticulous (no TV, which is totally fine) and all have a perfect view of the Maine coastline. You are lulled to sleep by the waves outside. There are different styles of rooms for different kinds... More

a really lovely place, superb views, lovely setting. Penny keeps the place immaculate, and the finish is top notch. Free beer and cookies in the evening really make you feel at home! Breakfast was equally brilliant. thanks Penny!

We stayed at the Mooring B+B June 24th through the 27th 2013. There are 5 rooms overlooking the ocean, a gorgeous rocky view with islands, pines, lobster boats, that hard to describe deep nautical scent of cold ocean water. We stayed in the Reid room, which also has a balcony, a queen sized comfortable bed, and nice design touches everywhere.... More

This is a "must go!" The Mooring B&B is wonderful! The ocean view is to die for! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable! The breakfast is delicious! We love staying at B&B's and Penny has created the one of the best we have ever been to. AND, the location is wonderful! Georgetown is an out of the way small community... More

Jen and I just spent 4 days at Penny's this month where we have visited faithfully once or twice a year for maybe six years or so? She never disappoints with her fantastic breakfasts and wonderful accommodations. We typically stay in the room on the first floor with its private balcony and it has been our "home away from home".... More

I couldn't have asked for more. The owner Penny Barabe promptly answered all questions and was very easy to work with. The food was amazing, my friends are still raving about it a month later. The view/setting was unmatched. And most importantly, our families got to hang out all weekend at the house as if it were our own. My... More

We chose The Mooring to view the 8/31/12 blue moon, which decided to hide, but in all other respects a perfect spot on the wild Maine coast south of Bath. Former home of the Walter Reid who donated the land for the nearby state park of the same name, The Mooring was lovingly updated and is run by his granddaughter,... More

My husband and I stayed at The Mooring to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary for a few days in late July. The property is beautiful and incredibly remote, which was just what we were looking for. We had a nice private deck off of our room which we used quite a bit and was also a great spot to hang...
