The receptionist was just coming out with warm chocolate chip cookies when we arrived to check in and the desk had a bowl full of dog biscuits, so our first impression was certainly one of welcome for me, my husband, and our springer spaniel. Our room was on the bottom floor of the lower building (over by the Muddy Rudder... more

Close to the highway for easy off and on. We come here every year ..after the kids are back in school, and the summer is over ! More quiet and most people are less stressed. The rooms have always been very clean, and well kept. The outside noise's have been little to nun in the halls. The area attractions and food... more

I am going to be honest. It's about a 5ish minute drive to the shopping attractions of Freeport ( IE LLBEAN etc ) but don't let the distance keep you from booking. Good clean rooms and a BUSY place too boot. It has 2 buildings. You may have to check in at one building and drive over to the sister... more

I booked this hotel because I was lured by the advertising of : "Beautiful view of marsh, passing boats and tides", "Topside building quiet and secluded, your own sanctuary", and "sleep soundly listening to the chirping frogs and crickets" A relaxing get away. Just what we were looking for. Shopping and then the tranquility of the river view and a... more

I didn't plan where I was going to stay when I left Long Island with my dog; I just had my AAA "Traveling With Your Pet" book, maps and my cell phone. My final destination was Bar Harbor, and I just happened to pick Freeport as my stop before going there. When I called, the voice on the phone was... more

We have stayed here several times, most recently the nights of 9/12/08, 9/13/08 on the third floor, room #316. Our room had a king bed, comfortable chair and ottoman and this is the room we would pick again, we slept great! The cafe on the property serves three meals a day and is great start with the breakfast. Brian at... more

This was our first stay at a Best Western and it was great. We mainly chose it because it was a dog friendly hotel. The hotels location was perfect for the areas we traveled to. The rooms were clean and roomy. The beds were really comfortable as well. The Cafe was great for breakfast. The entire staff that we had... more

We stayed at the Best Western Freeport on our way to Bar Harbor. We did have to wait awhile to get someone to help us. I think he was over ordering dinner. He was pleasant enough. He gave us a rate and than we presented a coupon, he did not hesitate to give us the lower rate. I also had... more

We've stayed at this place twice in the past year and both times we experienced the same issue. The overwhelming smell of old cigarette smoke permeates everything. Our first stay in April of '07 we checked in late and left early the next morning. Everywhere else in Freeport was booked so we had no choice. Both of our clothes carried... more
