My husband and I chose Captain Briggs because it is pet friendly and within walking distance of downtown Freeport. We stayed for one night with our dog in the Evergreen Room, which had a beautiful full bathtub (a nice treat for a cold, damp night). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. All in all, it was a... More

This was our first stay at this B&B. The location is perfect - close to all the action, but on a quiet, residential dead end street. This is an old (mid 1800s) ship builder's house, and must be a nightmare to maintain, but the current owners, Bev and Chuck Tefer, have obviously given it a lot of TLC. We had... More

I do want to note I'm behind in my reviews and our stay was actually JULY 2011, not September. We stayed in this inn in the "Bayberry" room on the first floor. My Mom stayed in the "Forget-Me-Not" room on the second floor and my boyfriends parents stayed in the dog room just to the left of the front door.... More

We stayed overnite at Captain Briggs B&B while passing through Freeport. We found it to be a great place to stay for our family. And to make things even better, they're dog friendly. It's conveniently located close to the downtown (and LL Bean) so we were able to settle into our room and then walk to shopping. We found our... More

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There are lovely quilts on all the beds and the home and gardens are kept immaculately. The inn is on a side street away from the noise but within easy walking distance of the stores. Bev and Chuck are very the perfect hosts. In the morning, Bev makes a... More

My family has stayed here for the past 3 years. Just a one night stopover on our way north - but we all look forward to it! Bev and Chuck are wonderful hosts, and the inn is absolutely charming. They always let you know in advance what breakfast will be (in case it is not to your liking), and always have a... More

Always the best sleep, excellent location. The teens love it. I will never wait in line at a chain hotel breakfast again. Food is the best.

Innkeeper Bev made me feel very welcome immediately. I was consulted on what I wanted for breakfast the next morning. My room was lovely and bright, and extremely quiet as it was off-season. Breakfast was lovely - everything tasted so good and homemade. Buttery baked pears, waffles, coffee available day and night. No TV in my room, but a big... More

My husband and I spent a weekend in Freeport, the middle of October. The B & B was one we had stayed in 7 years ago. There are new owners, Bev and Chuck, and they were wonderful hosts. The inn is very quaint. It is spotless, and service could not be better. The innkeepers were wonderful suggesting restaurants, points of... More

We brought two small dogs and one medium puppy to stay for two days at Captain Briggs House. We ALL were treated really well, and the room was clean and very nice. It was very quiet on the street and in the B and B the two nights we were there. The food was terrific and Bev was a generous... More
