The character of the Quaker Tavern B and B is unmistakably refreshing, green, and steeped in history. Donna has ensured that all guests wake up to sample organic soaps, foods, and go to sleep with a very comfortable comforter. Breakfast featured fresh organic eggs done any way we wanted, her signature waffles, a rhubarb crisp originating from her own rhubarb... More

This is the real deal when it comes to going back to the 1800s, the house is 88% original with wide board floors, double hung 18 pane original glass windows, antiques and memorabilia complete with magazines and books in the library that will take you back in time. The innkeeper is very pleasant, gregarious and does an outstanding job with... More

I really don't have anything new to add; I read each of the 25 reviews which preceded mine before writing this, and agree that they accurately represent Quaker Tavern and it's proprietress. I am just providing my voice of confirmation to the chorus of praises. We encountered many of the same scenarios other travelers mentioned, and they were easily accommodated... More

This big homestead is located just outside of Portland, ME, and is a short 15 minute drive to the airport and not too far from downtown. Donna, the hostess with the mostest, is extremely cordial and eager to make sure your stay is fantastic. She makes a wonderful breakfast every morning with local fare and her kale omelet is a... Stayed one night in late September. A lovely old house in a great position – less than 15 minutes’ drive from downtown Portland, but far enough out for you to feel you’re in the country. (Although the road it’s situated on can be quite busy at times). The building and rooms are beautifully preserved and presented, and Donna is a... More

We were starting off our 2014 Cross Country Odyssey, by flying from LAX-JFK-Portland, ME, and the weather was not cooperating. Our 4:30 PM flight to Maine was cancelled for bad weather, and the following flight, scheduled for 10:30 PM didn't get into the air until the early morning hours, and we didn't land in Portland, ME until 3:30 AM. It... More

This B&B is great for many reasons. I stayed here alone - I am a 29yo woman - and I felt safe, welcome, and comfortable. I can't say that about most hotels I have stayed in. The location is perfect - close to Freeport and Portland while being out of the way - a feature I really liked. It is... More

We stayed at Quaker Inn and loved the atmosphere, the charm of a 1700's home and the unique service. My family enjoyed the stencils on the walls, the old fire places all the way to the old nails in the floor. My family enjoyed the quiet garden and exploring the property. They came back from the weekend talking about all... More

We stayed at the Quaker Tavern for three nights in August, which is only about 15 minutes from Portland, where we spent most of our time while there. Donna was a delightful host! She was so generous and a pleasure to speak with in the mornings as she cooked us up some of the most delicious breakfasts I've had! Everything... More
