We spent six nights here while we were exhibiting at the Ellsworth antiques show. We picked the Twilite because of the proximity to the show and the favorable trip advisor reviews. The whole stay was a delightful experience that actually started when I called to make a reservation and spoke directly to Chuck, the owner. He answered all of my... More

Back after 11 years, little changed, but friendly owner. Clean refurbed bathrooms, spacious room with refrigerator and convenient to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor area with fair prices! Would return again! While facing highway, minimal traffic and a/c on kept it quiet.

I am always a tad skeptical of mom and pop places like this one. My experience has always been that they can be either very good or very bad with little in between. This is a very expensive area to stay in and the Twilite Motel was about all that was within our price range and didn't look like we... More

Our party of 4 senior citizen travelers were ALL satisfied with the user friendly accommodations, super friendly staff, continental breakfast, surrounding grounds, restaurant suggestions, quick responses to questions, and cleanliness. Close to everything yet quiet at night. WoW! Just 2 1/2 hours from our rental cabin Mooseheadchalet in Greenville, ME we are looking forward to a return trip.

This is a jewel of an older hotel. It is neat and clean and they include a decent continental breakfast with fresh baked blueberry muffins. The motel is located conveniently to local attractions including Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the motel is motorcycle friendly. The wi-fi works very well also.

We had a family affair to attend in this area of Maine, and this is a good choice. The room was large and very clean and cozy. I will say it is a bit dated, but that is what we had expected. The owners are so pleasant and the experience was good. We enjoyed sitting under the trees and reading,... More

Yet again, another vacation spent at the Twilite. We have been coming here regularly since 2004, and we keep coming back. Our room was clean, the owners are great, the location is very conveniently located near shops, and about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor. The only negative is that our bathroom had a constant musty odor that I could not... More

The reviews here are spot on! Quaint little motel that makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time. The furnishings are definitely old but are clean and in great shape. Our room was located in the building located to the back left of the office. The windows were open but it still appeared to have been closed up... More

We stayed one night after making phone reservations in advance. Best part of this stay was the help from people running this conveniently located motel. The sweet woman on the phone was very helpful with details and her follow up email confirmation. The front desk staffperson was helpful, very informative, and accomodating. His suggestions for visits in Acadia and local... More

Thanks for commenting on your stay with us. However we fail to understand why your overall rate was - poor - when you obviously (according to your own words) were rather happy with your stay. Poor (2 stars), is a rather harsh evaluation, and usually mean that there was something seriously wrong. More

Stayed here overnight twice because of the convenient location while camping and traveling in a rainy late September week. Simple, comfortable enough shelter for our needs. We wished it cost less, but needed a place out of the rain and there are few bargains in this area.
