For the money, you can't beat this place. If you're minding your nickels and dimes, and don't need "fancy" - then this is the place for you. The rooms are clean and comfortable - we stayed in the king with the gas "woodstove" - which added a nice touch. It was convenient to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Campobello Island -... more

This is almost the "Twilght Zone" as you step into this 50's style motel. Park right outside your door and enter a vey clean, nostalgic little motel room. Knotty pine ceiling with a country feel makes this motel quaint and charming. The location is close to town, right on the hwy, but quiet in spite of that. If you're traveling... more

The owners, Ariela and Chuck, were very friendly and accomendating people. They were always available to chat, give you information on things to do and where to eat. They made us feel very at home. They serve a very nice breakfast and have a nice little gift shop. We were going to stay 2 nights, but stayed 3. Our room... more

We were planning to go to Maine for a very long time. Finally we had made a decision and had a dilemma where to stay. I checked the T.A website and decided to try the Twilite Motel for one night. Guess what, we stayed there 4 days and it was a great experience. Morning cheat chats with very friendly owners.... more

The owners couldn't have been friendlier, the room couldn't have been cleaner. Everything at the continental breakfast was fresh. The only drawback is the lack of a swimming pool but the ocean is nearby as are numerous lakes. more

Stayed here for 2 nights, ideal for visiting Acadia national park. Room itself was fairly basic, but it had all the essentials. The owners are very friendly people, who helped me allot with recommendations about places to see, resteraunts etc. They provided a lovely breakfast which set us up for the day. I was sad to leave! If you are... more

We recently met our neighbors from Hawaii who had just finished a 2000 mile bike ride up the East Coast. We met them in Bar Harbour and luckily booked into the Twilight Motel. The motel is close enough to the tourist areas of Bar Harbour and Acadia Park for an easy drive, but far enough away to avoid the summer... more

Being a tour director, I make decisions on booking motels/hotels by reading the guests' comments in a lot of cases. Therefore I feel that it is important that I pass on my comments, whether good or bad, on tourist accommodations for others to base their decisions. I recently had the opportunity to overnight at the Twilight Motel in Ellsworth, Maine... more

We stopped in Ellsworth for one night on our way to Lubec and points in downeast Maine. The Twilite met our needs well. Rooms, although not spacious, were clean, with a fine bathroom, and photos of local sights on the walls that were taken by the owner's daughter. The check-in area had coffee/tea/hot chocolate available all day....a nice tough after... more
