We had a family emergency and needed 8 rooms in a pinch. Not only was the staff at the Lakeside accommodating they were professional and sincere. The facility met all our needs and even offered an outdoor location to sit, relax and visit after a very long day of travel and family business. The cool evenings and beautiful fall colors... More

I really wanted to love this little place. It seems to have lots of great reviews from loyal followers. I love Mom & Pop businesses. But in the end, I would not stay here again. Basic info: stayed in hotel room, second floor, no kitchen. Family gathering Pros: Easy to get to. Beautiful views. Amazing sunsets. Grounds are well kept.... More

The NATURAL beauty of this Maine lake, the lovely voices in the Loon Choir every evening, the glorious green of the trees and fields, and even more, the kind, generous and accommodating NATURE of owner's Andy and Sheree and staff take guests back to the days of true "neighborly -- ness". We very recently spent 15 days (in 4 different... More

We've been there 3 times and enjoyed the closeness to Lake Cobbosecontee (20 feet?) The boats, the fishing, the friendly and accommodating staff all work to ease us into vacation mode. It's a beautiful spot, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The screened porch is a great spot to enjoy birds and fellow guests. I love it.

I had never visited the Motel before. I did not have high expectations given the rate. Could not have been more surprised. Room was clean. Kitchen was clean. View was spectacular. Service was great! Sheree and Andy were very accommodating and welcoming. My family and I have worked extensively in the hotel business -- 4 and 5 star hotels and... More

Just ending yet another fabulous week with our large family group (from ME, NY, NJ, PA, FL, CA) at Lakeside Motel & Cabins. This was the 19th year we have been having our week-long reunions. Andy & Sheree are always so accommodating to any and all of our needs. They make a special week even more memorable! Many Thanks and... More

Just saw the "mixed bag" review. Couldn't disagree more. We stayed in 22a. We're first timers and absolutely loved the place. Andy and Sheree are warm and welcoming hosts who aim to please as do the rest of their delightful staff. If we come up from DC again next summer, we'll definitely stay there. If your tastes and preferences run... More

In July 2014 my husband, who is a paraplegic and wheelchair dependent, and I stayed three nights at Lakeside Motel & Cabins in Maine as guests in room 9; which is their handicap accommodations. As it pertains to our family situation we feel our extensive travel and vacation experiences of thirty plus years, both with and without children, have proved... More

We recently stayed at Lakeside. Before writing this review I read several others. There is an overwhelming number of positive reviews. I agree with some aspects of some of them, but after reading others, I wondered if we stayed at the same place. I have been coming to Maine for over 50 yrs and have stayed in a variety of cabins... Lakeside is a little gem of a place. We were looking for something near Readfield and Hallowell and NOT in Augusta, check. Something not too expensive and maybe near or on one of the area's MANY lakes, double check. Add to these very friendly and accommodating owners, a beautiful view of the lake, where picnic tables and adirondack chairs allowed... More
