This was our second stay at the Five Gables Inn, and we very much enjoyed both visits. The inn has a marvelous location, high on a hill overlooking a peaceful bay, with a spacious porch and comfortable chairs to view the water, read, chat or just dream what life down east would be like. Our room was pleasantly furnished and...

You can't ask for anything better than this! The lovely setting on a hill overlooking the water is just the tip of the iceberg. The innkeepers are warm, friendly and so hospitable. Delicious buffet breakfasts with a different menu every day. Absolutely beautiful rooms with a view of the water from every room. Fantastic front porch and indoor sitting area....

We found this on Tripadvisor and were very happy with our choice. A small New England Inn couldn't get any better than the Five Gables. My wife wanted to stay in one place with a porch to read and relax during our Maine trip and we hit a home run at the Five Gables. Their porch has plenty of chairs...

The moment we arrived at Five Gables Inn we felt such a warm feeling of hospitality. Mike and De made sure we were well taken care of. Three college friends and I were treated like queens from the transporting of our luggage to the delivery of a delicious breakfast each morning. The rooms were cozy and we especially enjoyed the...

This was our second stay at the Five Gables and it was every bit as wonderful as our first. Mike and De run a beautiful inn that is a great spot to enjoy all the midcoast Maine has to offer. And as for the breakfasts that come out of the kitchen - fantastic! And if inclement weather is expected that...

What a wonderful place for a laid-back long weekend! The inn is a little out of the way, overlooking a lovely cove. Our room was small but attractively decorated and very clean. No matter, because the inviting seating in front of the fireplace was just the right place to be on a foggy night. When the sun broke through the...

My husband, our son and daughter-in-law and I spent 2 days at 5 Gables. De and Mike, the owners, were very welcoming. Our rooms 7 and 9 were comfortable and nicely decorated. 7 is larger with a fireplace and tub/shower combo in a large bathroom. As I told De when we checked out, it was if they had actually stayed...

This place is a real find; traditional, comfortable but with that extra plus that makes it special. It had been a warm day, but in the evening the fireplace in the lounge was lit and we were welcome to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with our friends. Tea and cookies had been served earlier and NOT store bought...
