4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Spent one night here on our way up to Bar Harbour. The Inn is charming and beautiful. The Inn keepers/owners are very friendly and helped us plan a local hike. We have tended to prefer to stay in hotels, tending to enjoy a little more modern accomodations. This place was no disappointment and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief. And breakfast... More

Stayed in Room 16 withy husband. Would 100% return. Five Gables is only a few moments away from Boothbay Harbor, but is set in a residential neighborhood across from a mini marina area. Although the inn isn't directly on the water (you look into a row of 2 story houses) the porch is huge and great for reading or enjoying... More

We have stayed at the Five Gables Inn four times. Each time, we find that it is the most relaxing atmosphere of any of the B&B's we've stayed at across the country. The new owners, Steve and Susan, are keeping up the fine quality and hospitality we've come to expect. The b&b is tucked quietly away from the hustle and... More

We spent a lovely 4 day getaway here. Extremely clean, (as I am fussy and it passed with high marks). The innkeepers, Susan and Steve, were two of the nicest people. I had mentioned when I made the reservations that I was gluten free and, amazingly she prepared several things for me every day to eat! What a treat and... More

I don't know where to start. I could probably sing the praises of the 5 gables inn until the cows come home. I have never felt more comfortable anywhere. Our experience started at tea time. Hot tea and homemade cookies on the porch overlooking the bay was casual, elegant and yummy at the same time. Samantha was down to earth,... More

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and this was a lovely place to do it. The rooms are small but very comfortable and we had a very nice bathroom. They have tea in the afternoons, and the cookies were fabulous. The breakfast the next day was even better, everything was absolutely delicious including the salmon quiche and some... More

This classic old inn is a very special place. The sun was shinning and the water was sparkling on the quiet cove across the street when we first arrived at the Five Gables Inn. This was our first visit and we were immediately impressed by its welcoming staff and immaculately kept rooms. The breakfast was fabulous and kept us going... More

I couldn't have been happier here! The inn is fantastic. There is a great view, and we hung on the large front porch taking it all in. The rooms were very clean and comfy. We rode our bikes around down to Ocean Point and into Boothbay Harbor. The inn was tranquil and peaceful, yet not far to get to a... More

Five Gables Inn is a beautifully kept old inn situated on a slight slope overlooking a bay in East Boothbay, Maine, a few miles from Boothbay Harbor. All anyone needs to know about Five Gables Inn is that it is phenomenal. Steve and Susan are friendly and gracious hosts. You have to keep in mind that this is not a... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2015

We recently spent a few days at the Five Gables. Wow, did we have a great time. The breakfast in the morning is a beautiful spread of delicious choices. The rooms are immaculate and nicely decorated. The place sits off the beaten path, so it is quiet and serene, with an amazing view of the bay. Within walking distance is... More
