Elegant, clean, with a homey touch. A step back in time, examining the home of an accomplished couple during the mid-20th century. Our hosts were most attentive. We stayed in "The Hideaway" on both our trips to Dexter. Immaculate and well-appointed, all the amenities were up-to-date. Food: varied and delicious. More

My wife and I stayed at the Brewster for 4 days while taking our Honeymoon/My return to my hometown. It was the most amazing way to stay in Maine. Mark was an excellent host, and the breakfasts were superb and fresh. The new sheets that Mark has introduced to the rooms are like "Sleeping on a cloud wrapped in a... More

Thank you for the very kind words Chris and Heather. I LOVED your comments on the new bedding, so much so that it was the final thing to tip me over the edge to order the same for my other 8 guest rooms. The Brewster Inn has certainly come on a long way since my arrival here in Feb 2007.... More

We stayed at the Brewster Inn for five nights and were fortunate enough to book "The Game Room". The room was very cozy yet generous with space to relax and unwind....the fireplace and table to hold our puzzle made our stay warm and enjoyable. The thought of staying in the same room where President Truman played pool with Senator Brewster... More

Thanks Jim and Annette for your kind words. I agree with you, the Game room is a wonderful room, cozy, quiet, original wood paneling and loads of space. The Inn has come on in leaps and bounds since i took over in Feb 07 and with some extra little add on's i'm doing right now, its going to be even... More

Mark is quite the Inn Keeper, he knows his business and he knows how to treat guests. He is quite detailed in his review of rooms, asks key questions to help in the selection of a room, and once you arrive, he makes you feel right at home. He leaves you alone, but when you need something, he seems to... More

I had been traveling all day for business and was very tired. Finding this inn and it's charming innkeeper was like finding an oasis in the dessert. I had the absolute best night sleep. The bed was so very comfortable. The robe was perfect; comfy cozy and a bit stretchy to make it even more comfortable. The bedroom was the... More

After having so many guests ask me about my beds and what makes them so comfortable, i've added my secrets to the main guestrooms page with links to the exact pillows and memory foam mattress pads. Its not just any mattress pad, its in my opinion, the best one. (after testing 20 from different companies i believe Kohls do have... More

Our stay here was wonderful! We were in the honeymoon suite, which included a jacuzzi tub. The room is beautiful, with a queen bed and private bath. The owner, Mark, was so warm and accomodating to our needs. My partner and I are both vegan and Mark went above and beyond to create a wonderful vegan breakfast for us. He... More

From check-in to check-out, my 2-night stay at the Brewster Inn could not have been more perfect. Although traveling for business, I felt right at home upon my arrival with Mark's gracious greeting at the front door. The initial feeling is one of warmth & comfort. It began snowing & the fireplaces were all aglow, making for a cozy evening... More

Business guests are well accommodated at the Brewster Inn. Plenty of workspace either in some guest rooms with desks or in the dining room with wi-fi, fax and copier available. The honeymoon suite is a great room for business with table and chairs, whirlpool and plenty of room to stretch out and relax after. Thank you for your very kind... More

My wife and I received a night's stay at the Brewster Inn as a wedding gift from a good friend. We decided to cash in on it after a particularly grueling few weeks for me at work, and for my wife doing her third year med school rotations at a hospital in central Maine. The Brewster Inn proved to be... More

Thank you for the very kind words. The crumble that morning had apple, blackberries and cranberries in. I love that dish too! Glad i could help you relax from your working enviroment just for a short while. Still putting in place some more things for guest pleasures this year. Exciting times! As always, "peace quiet and tranquility" is what you... More

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Brewster Inn in March 2012. We were on our way up to Moosehead Lake from Boston and wanted a place to rest before making the last leg of the trip. The Brewster Inn exceeded our expectations. This is a great option up in Northern Maine. We would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a place to relax. The rooms are comfortable and the building has a very interesting history. Although we stayed in the winter, I am sure the gardens are beautiful in the summer, while the lake is minutes away. Mark works very hard... More

I think its safe to say up in this part of Maine, good accommodation can be hard to find. I have that good accommodation. Always looking to improve still further to make my guests stays the best they can possibly be.
