Mark has done a fantastic of bringing this former governor's mansion back to life and giving it a wonderful touch of England with the gardens and the attention to detail. We stayed in the same room that, then Senator, Harry Truman stayed while visiting his friend Senator Brewster. I especially liked the original bath fixtures and lighting. I especially liked... More

My trip to Maine wasn't for pleasure but rather to honor my mother's wishes and spread her ashes in the woods. As we were looking at places to stay we realized our options for the area were Very limited and the closest "Motel" had reviews that would make the Bates Motel look 4 star. My husband and I had never... More

My husband and I stayed at the Brewster Inn in June. We attended a family wedding. I have visited Maine for 30 years but stayed in motels. We liked the inn very much. We stayed in the Strawberry Room which was clean and comfortable. Mark was a friendly and accomidating host, making fruit bread and a warm dish at breakfast... More

We stayed here for one night, my husband and I in the honeymoon suite and my sister and brother in law in a smaller room. The Honeymoon suite was big enough that we could all hang out in and spend time together. The room was beautifully decorated, it seems as though every book and knick knack was specially chosen and... This was our 2nd great experience! We were there for our 58th wedding anniversary! Mark was very helpful to recommend a very good restaurant where we celebrated our anniversary! We stayed in the garden suite which overlooked the lovely gardens. Mark is a great host and always has a great homemade dish to go along with the other breakfast food.... More

My family and I stayed here when we visited friends. Mark put us in the Game Room. We enjoyed looking at all the books and playing chess. The king size bed was comfortable and my daughter loved sleeping in the 3/4 bed in the alcove. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was refreshing with plenty of water pressure.... More

Thank you Claudia. I think I have 3 chess tables throughout the Inn inc in the Game room. Plenty of opportunity for chess players to sharpen their skills whilst staying here. Books are also good, and there are plenty around the inn, whether fiction, nonfiction, history or interests, something for everyone. The garden developments carry on at a swift pace.... More

We like this quiet New England town for a stop-over. My wife loves the elegance and grandeur of this old governor's mansion and the innkeeper pays attention to details that makes this place special. They always have a wonderful breakfast with lots of choice of homemade items and specialty coffee. We have already booked our room for next month to... More

Hello DWS, thank you for taking the time to write a review before your next stay. I think you will be happy again with the further improvements since your last visit. I get a lot of good comments on breakfast and coffee. I make my coffee strong. There’s nothing watered down here. As for breakfast, I always try to fill... More

My husband and I stayed at the Inn with our two kids aged 4 and 6 when we were in town looking at property to buy in the area and the first thing we thought was, "This will be our 'in-town get away when we move here!" Mark was attentive and personable before we even showed up. When we arrived... More

We recently stayed at the Brewster Inn for a couple nights and we loved it. The room was very charming and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Mark was incredibly nice and patient with us. The breakfast was also pretty good. I really liked the banana bread.
