We arrived in Camden on a dark and stormy night (well, it was a very wet afternoon) and were referred by another inn to the Hawthorne. The bright yellow exterior cheered us up immediately, as did the spacious carriage house room with a large bathroom and outdoor terrace. But for me, a dyed-in-the-wool-dessert-for-breakfast devotee, the best thing about the Hawthorne,... More

Newly acquired by Ted & Lisa, this is a beautiful property. Our room (2B in the Carriage House) was large and airy, had a private deck overlooking the grounds, separate shower and a spa tub you could do laps in. Ted does the cooking and delicious breakfasts are served out of doors in nice weather or in the bright dining... More

The inn is perfectly located for walking to town. Hosts Lisa and Ted are most accommodating and gracious. The choices for breakfast were scrumptious especially when served outside on the veranda. The room was totally comfortable deserving a return visit.

We spent four wonderful days at the Hawthorn Inn. The new owners, Lisa and Ted, are fabulous. They are gracious and welcoming and cannot do enough to make you feel comfortable and special. The breakfasts are a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The weather was perfect and we had breakfasts served to us in their beautiful backyard.... More

New owners are friendly, gracious and accommodating hosts. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Breakfasts really are gourmet. They even prepared breakfast to go for a very early departure. The Inn is close to central Camden and the harbor. Definitely a place to return to.

My girlfriend and I spent a weekend in the Brougham room in the Inn and it was truly incredible. The innkeepers are two of the most wonderful people you will meet doing whatever they can to make your experience special. We made the trip north to Acadia for the day which is a nice day trip from here. The breakfast was as remarkable... My family stayed at the Hawthorn for a wedding in June, and the location was perfect. It sits just on the edge of the main downtown area of Camden, well within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and harbor. The rooms are comfortable and uniquely decorated, as is the rest of the house - charming.

My husband and I just returned from several days at the Hawthorn Inn. We celebrated our mutual August birthdays and had a wonderful stay. The "Caroline" is a beautiful well appointed room on the first floor. This Victorian Inn is in excellent condition and décor will not disappoint. Breakfast consists of two courses, a gourmet seasonal fruit first course and... More

My wife and I spend a night in the Hawthorn Inn in June 2014. The house is really nice. It is a truly old house with squeaking floors and nice, old furniture. The breakfast was special and very good. Some items felt a bit special (like the electric candle installation with 1 candle in each of the 5 windows and... More

This is a charming and well kept up house in walking distance of downtown Camden. It is everything you would want from a B&B. We stayed in the carriage house which had large rooms, lovely decks to a beautifully landscaped backyard and jacuzzi tub. Everything is immaculate and the innkeepers are brand new. They had only been there 5 weeks... More
