Perfect location, gorgeous home and property, delicious food, and gracious hosts. Fabulous! Just steps away from idyllic Camden harbor, restaurants and shops, the Hawthorn Inn has beautiful and comfortable rooms, lovely common areas and gorgeous grounds. Innkeepers Ted and Lisa provided personalized hospitality from our first contact. Lisa asked about food allergies and preferences and answered other questions by email.... More

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend in Camden, facilitated by our stay at the Hawthorn Inn in Camden, Maine. The weather outside was bright but very cold. On our arrival, we were greeted by Lisa and Ted, who were warm hosts during our stay. Our comfortable suite had a sitting room, spacious bedroom with... More

Work requires me to visit clients in the northeast and B&B's are my lodging of choice when I can find one with good reviews. The Hawthorn Inn has all a picky business traveler may want, excellent WiFi, a very comfy bed and a great breakfast to start the day. The new innkeepers outdid themselves trying to make my stay comfortable.... More

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Hawthorn Inn for our second time to date to ring in the new year and we couldn't have been happier. We already love the Inn because of the spacious, comfortable accommodations (we chose the Norfolk room but we stayed in the Brougham the first time and in both we were able to... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few day this summer. It was a wonderful place to stay. The location couldn't be better. The owners where so nice and helpful. The food was wonderful. To make things even more special is that they they cooked Gluten Free meals for me. Our bedroom was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable... More

Sometimes innkeepers just get it right. Two mirrors so when the single bathroom is occupied, someone can put on makeup or comb his or her hair; a hanging mirror to see if your hem is crooked; double-ply bathroom tissue (please!). Free water. Frig for guests. Hawthorne Inn (under new ownership) is a perfect example. It is a lovely place, walkable... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hawthorn Inn, and Camden in general. Walking distance to both the town (less than 5 mins) and to the State Park (15 - 20 mins to park entrance). Our room was in the Carriage House, lovely and quiet away from the main road. A little old fashioned, but perfectly comfortable with a cool... More

This beautiful bright yellow 1890 home was a fantastic B&B in Camden. Lisa and Ted warmly welcomed us and were quite helpful to suggest great places to eat dinner. Our room, the Emma Knight, was a suite in the lower part of the inn which would have been perfect for a family with children. The room was quite unique with... More

We spent one night here on our way up to Bar Harbor. We stayed in the Emma Knight room and would not choose it again. When we booked the room we had to select a second choice and we did not check our second choice. The room is in the basement below the kitchen. We were woken up at 5:30am... More

Lisa W, Owner at Hawthorn Inn, responded to this review

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not have a restful sleep the night that you stayed at the Hawthorn Inn. As we have taken ownership of the inn on June 24, 2014, we are still learning the idiosyncrasies of each room. The Emma Knight room has presented a challenge for us. Historically, it has been... We arrived in Camden on a dark and stormy night (well, it was a very wet afternoon) and were referred by another inn to the Hawthorne. The bright yellow exterior cheered us up immediately, as did the spacious carriage house room with a large bathroom and outdoor terrace. But for me, a dyed-in-the-wool-dessert-for-breakfast devotee, the best thing about the Hawthorne,... More
