We have stayed here 3 times and each time I can't wait to return. The owners, Mary Jo and Michael are great hosts and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Each room is lovely. We have stayed in the Hideaway rooms and the main Inn on Elm Street and have never been disappointed. If you drive by, you are... More

We stayed at the Hartstone Inn for our first trip to Maine in early November. The staff was so nice and helpful. Our second day there, they had a huge snowstorm and the power was out for more than 24 hours, but the staff stayed at the Inn and cooked and served dinner by candlelight. In the morning when the... Just returned from Camden Maine where we stayed at the Hartstone Inn. What an amazing gem right in town. Owner Mary Jo and Chef Michael are amazing hosts, Mary Jo even sat down with us at breakfast to help us plan our day's activities! After three wonderful breakfasts and three cozy nights in the Toscano room, we didn't want to... More

We have been coming to the Hartstone Inn since 1999 and apparently so have many of the equally appreciative guests we met today over yet another scrumptious breakfast prepared by Chef Michael and his staff. Impressed by Mary Jo's warmth and her exquisite taste for decorating we continue to find the most restorative R&R benefits staying in almost every room... More

We love everything about this Inn. Located within a block of Main Street and the wharf, it's a pleasant walk to everything, even the quaint neighborhoods and the library on a drizzly day. The parlor is welcoming, there's always a cup of tea and the best cookies. If the room is vacant, they'll leave the door open so you can... More

We originally booked our stay at the Hartstone Inn for October of 2013 but had to reschedule to April of 2014 and then again to November of 2014, when we were finally able to make the trip from NJ. Each time we had to reschedule, the inn staff were extremely courteous and accommodating to our needs. We stayed in the... More

Not only is this Inn perfectly appointed and in a lovely Maine town. The true essense comes from the kitchen.Chef owner Michael Salmon along with his wife Mary Jo are simply an amazing pair behind those doors. And there entire staff could not have been any more accommodating than they where.A first class operation and a perfectly enjoyable experience. Thanks to all.

We enjoyed everything about this place. The rooms were both well appointed and interesting. We actually stayed here twice on the trip and both the Tally-Ho and Provence Rooms, though some of the smallest rooms in the inn, were excellent. The daily happy hours in the living room were a lot of fun and a great way to get to... More

We stayed in the Toscana room. It has a 4 post king bed and is very cosy. It is in the mid range price of rooms that this property offers. We loved it and would stay again. The only other time we stayed with Hartstone we stayed in their satellite property nearby in the Sunflower Suite which was amazing but... More

As a disabled traveller I have walking difficulties & this had been conveyed to the Hotel before booking, however on arrival there was no-one to greet us & having parked at the back of the Hotel were then informed we were in the 'Hideaway' - which was across the main road & down another road! On reaching the Hideaway we... More
