We booked the Lemon Verbena room for my husband & I. We also booked the Rose Hip Suite for our adult & teen-aged children. The rooms are beautiful, just as they are depicted on the web site. We will definitely stay at the Hideaway Inn again when we return to Maine.

I am a bit surprised by all the rave reviews, I thought the Inn was average at best. Me and my husband arrived for a one night stay and we were greeted by a staff member. She showed us around the Inn which by the outside I expected to be much bigger. There was only one common area for all... More

We came to Hartstone to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed for a full week. It was an incredible experience. The rooms were beautiful, clean and more than adequate. The staff from top to bottom was very attentive but not intrusive. Every member of the staff was interested in our experience and our plans for the day. They were... More

thanks to the concierge at the Samoset, my wife and I dined here and took advantage of the Chef's tasting: 5 courses with the main course featuring Beef tenderloin and Grilled lobster. We had dined the night before at La Bella vita and my wife enjoyed an almost identical entrée of Angus tenderloin medallion with split grilled lobster with mashed... More

The Inn itself is very nice, but the restaurant is superb. The Inn is very well managed and is very attractive. The Innkeepers are personable and are very interested in helping you plan your activities. Our room was quite nice but a few things bothered us - the bed was too marshmallow soft by our personal taste. The rooms could... More

The Hartstone is the kind of place that, once you discover it, you are torn between keeping it as your own secret treasure or sharing it with the rest of the world so everyone can experience its magic. This place is a true gem. The owners set a tone of warmth and professionalism that is carried through to every single... More

We have done many B&B experiences over the years in several countries and this place ranks right up there as among the finest. Many reviews talk about the positives. One that stood out to me was the interaction with customers by the owners. In my profession we talk about the client experience, these people have this perfected. At breakfast the... More

My wife and I live in Bangor, ME, about an hour and a half from this lovely place. We used a gift certificate we had received for a one-night stay. As there are plenty of sparkling reviews of this place echoing my own sentiments, I will be brief. Our favorite part of our experience was the FOOD. Oh mylanta. Chef... More

We were given a 2 night stay by our children and their spouses. We opted to use it for a trip to Maine for our 45th anniversary in April. What a wonderful experience it was. We had the 5 course dinner one night and it was so fantastic. Definitely a gourmet treat. Breakfast was also a gourmet treat with fresh... More

First trip to Maine and the Hartstone Inn. Absolutely wonderful! Mary Jo and the staff were very accommodating considering that I have a shellfish allergy. We reserved the Whatever Floats Your Boat Package, and everything, including our lunch was taken care of. Mary Jo was invaluable in suggesting attractions for us daily. We would HIGHLY recommend the Hartstone as a... More
