Second stay and third visit to restaurant - hospitality marks all that is done beginning with check-in and room orientation to table-side visits each meal from Chef Michael or Mary Jo. One is made to feel comfortable and valued as a guest. Evening restaurant meals are extravagantly presented, addictively flavored and very reasonably priced. The Hartstone and the Camden-Rockland setting... More

We stayed here in October of 2014 and it was absolutely magical! Our room was elegant but cozy and well appointed with luxurious linens, robes, soaps, lotions and a jacuzzi. The entire Inn was spotless. Our evening began with a specialty cocktail and hors d'oeuvres in the parlor where we could chat with other guests and the owner of the... More

We stayed at The Hartstone two nights in February in the Hideaway. Everything was extraordinary, especially the five course dinner that greeted us upon arrival. We enjoyed the cuisine so much, we chose to dine our second night at the inn. The wait staff is highly trained, attentive, and welcoming. The chef accommodates special diets. There is plenty of common... More

We recently stayed at the Hartstone for a one night getaway that included a five course dinner and breakfast. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Our room in the manor suite was well appointed, the bed was very comfortable, gas fireplace a great plus for a cold Maine day. Very clean and obviously well cared for. The dining... More

Stayed for just a night, enjoyed the 5 course chef sampler in the restaurant. The kitchen was very accomodating to all dietary restrictions and made the most delicious food. Because no one was in our room the following night they told us late check-out would not be a problem which allowed us to take another bath after snowshoeing.

We stayed at The Hartstone in February in the Carriage House Suite. This was our second visit. There are MANY positives that brought us back: The staff is wonderful - attentive, thoughtful, always available. The food is delicious - interesting, varied, beautifully presented. The location is perfect - close to downtown, but quiet. The rooms are cozy - fireplaces, robes,... More

The Hartstone Inn was our hidden jewel in Camden for a weekend getaway. The Inn is so charming and the location is PERFECT! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! While staying at the Inn we enjoyed walking downtown, hiking Mt. Batte and a sail on the Schooner Surprise. Michael and Mary Jo were such gracious hosts and... More

Always a pleasure to return to see Micheal and Mary Jo, we have been going since the beginning and the improvement have been spectacular to the property. Lucky for all of us the tradition of great hospitality hasn't gone away. Always a delight to indulge in a dinner or two not to mention waking up to such a breakfast. Camden... More

I cannot say enough about the staff, all super friendly, willing to help and always present. We stayed in the French Thyme room which is located on the ground level, we heard plenty of noise from neighbors upstairs. The room was cozy, a sleeper sized twin sofa, king sized bed and bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. The room was clean, the... More

The Hartstone Inn & Hideaway is a cozy, warm, romantic Bed and Breakfast with an amazing selection of succulent cuisine to choose from for breakfast and dinner. Mary Jo and her husband Chef Michael Salmon are wonderfully gracious and attentive hosts and their staff is exceptionally accommodating. It was very refreshing to experience a staff that truly loves their job.... More
