My sister and I were looking for a different place for our annual Sister's Weekend. I found the Hartstone Inn online. It was wonderful, situated in a quaint town with lovely people. The owners of the Inn Maryjo and Michael ( also the chef) are friendly, warm and very accommodating. We took a 2 hour cooking class/demonstration with Chef Michael... More

In complete agreement with the couple who also stayed in the French Thyme Room the weekend before us. Relaxing stay and comfy bed. A bit quieter than the main inn since its on the parallel street behind main st - close enough to walk to the main inn for dinner even in cold weather but less noise from main st... More

If you enjoy great food and a great getaway then this is the place you have been looking for. We stayed for 2 nights and went to the cooking class with Chef Michael and his new Chef Daryl. They were amazing to watch and learn from and the food was amazing. The 5 course meal we had at the Inn... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Camden and the Hartstone Inn. We chose to stay in the "Champagne suite" @ the 'Manor House' building just behind the Main inn, as we felt it would be quieter and more private; with only 2 other suites beside ours... a brick path leads the way from the parking area and to the Inn.... The Hartstone Inn is just lovely, with all the nice touches one would hope for. 21 rooms all distinct (we stayed in the Wedgewood, have also stayed in the Loft) with wifi and DVD players. The public sitting area has a fireplace and window seat. Two course breakfasts include such things as rice pudding with fruit salad followed by German... More

We've stayed here several times, always in the Cottage Suite. This year I'm recovering from some extensive jaw surgery. The staff was so accommodating, preparing food that was easy for me to eat. I had my own (tiny) silverware which made it easy for me to eat. I left the dining room and forgot to take my VERY NECESSARY silverware... More

We have stayed here 3 times and each time I can't wait to return. The owners, Mary Jo and Michael are great hosts and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Each room is lovely. We have stayed in the Hideaway rooms and the main Inn on Elm Street and have never been disappointed. If you drive by, you are... More

We stayed at the Hartstone Inn for our first trip to Maine in early November. The staff was so nice and helpful. Our second day there, they had a huge snowstorm and the power was out for more than 24 hours, but the staff stayed at the Inn and cooked and served dinner by candlelight. In the morning when the... Just returned from Camden Maine where we stayed at the Hartstone Inn. What an amazing gem right in town. Owner Mary Jo and Chef Michael are amazing hosts, Mary Jo even sat down with us at breakfast to help us plan our day's activities! After three wonderful breakfasts and three cozy nights in the Toscano room, we didn't want to... More

We have been coming to the Hartstone Inn since 1999 and apparently so have many of the equally appreciative guests we met today over yet another scrumptious breakfast prepared by Chef Michael and his staff. Impressed by Mary Jo's warmth and her exquisite taste for decorating we continue to find the most restorative R&R benefits staying in almost every room... More
