This B&B looks small from the road, but looks are deceiving. An addition on the back goes far back on the property, making the rooms in the back very quiet, even though the inn is right on the main road through town. Because of the way the addition was built, guests in the back rooms have to walk through one... More

Our youngest son was in the Drama Festival at Camden Hills HS and we wanted to see the school performance. Since my husband and I honeymooned in Camden 23+ years ago we welcomed the chance to revisit the area. The inn we stayed at on our honeymoon was booked so my husband look for an in that would have a... More

Beautifully done two floor suite was the perfect hedonistic getaway. Extra pillows and towels and oversized whirlpool tub and king size bed. All that topped by Norm's incredibly delicious breakfasts! No detail was overlooked. Off season affordability didn't hurt either. Camden was the perfect combination of home town sensibility and Vacationland charm.

Looks good from the outside, like a historic inn and the building does date to 1810. But most of the rooms are in two additions from 10 and 20 years ago. Our room was up a steep flight of steps in one of those additions, still close enough to US-1 that road noise (until late at night) was distracting. Our... More

After a 7 hour drive, we were welcomed at the B&B with coffee/snacks waiting at the entrance. We were then introduced to our extremely cozy room. The Captain Swift was a perfect location; just a few minutes walk to the little village with shops/restaurants, etc. After breakfast Saturday morning, Norm gave us a map and highlighted some sights to see... Picture this - walking distance from all that the interesting village not Camden has to offer, with hospitality way over the top. Host Norm made us feel so welcome, beautiful room, unexpected nice touches such as coffee and cake as you arrive, bottled water, fridge and ice available, and help with activities and things to do (golf for us). Add... More

There are returns and there are returns. Many disappoint. This one does not. For several years, we have made a point of staying with Norm and Linda at the Capt. Swift Inn because of their unparallelled service and facility. This is just a wonderful B&B, hands down. You are close to so much to do and see and of course,... More

A truly exceptional experience. In Camden for the POPTECH conference, I stayed here for 4 nights. The owners were adorable : both helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were incredibly delicious (yogurt and muesli parfaits, pancakes, omelets ... ) and the bed comfortable! What a great experience!

We stayed for one night at the Captain Swift Inn in Camden. Parking lots are right beside the B&B. Our room was clean and big, we had our own gas fireplace and a good wifi connection. The window A/C was next to the bed (bedhead) and the cold air that came through (yes, it was turned off) the window or... More
