We were riding through town with no reservations. We did some tripadvisor homework and liked the looks of the birchwood. We called ahead and reserved two rooms. Upon arrival we were thrilled with the million dollar views and the postcard setting. The grounds were spotless and loaded with flowers and fruit and berry bushes everywhere. The rooms were immaculate ...... More

Our room was super clean, the and everything was in very excellent condition. The place looked brand new. The owners live on site and were very hospitable. Coffee muffins and fruit were available in the mornings. About 3 miles from downtown Camden. Nice view of the bay.

Our room was clean, the queen size bed was comfortable and everything was in very good to excellent condition. The place looked brand new. The hot water was solar heated. I don’t know why every commercial establishment can’t do this. We were provided a simple breakfast of coffee, juice and homemade scones or muffins. The berries to make the breakfast... More

Eric and Jenny have created a clean, green affordable motel! No carpet to smell up the room. Simple amenities are provided always keeping the environment in mind. Solar panels heat the water. The delicious coffee is available early and the light breakfast of fresh fruit and scones is the perfect touch. Eggs and berries for the baked goods come from... More

The Birchwood Motel provided me comfortable, affordable, and sustainable lodging with a (practical and no-nonsense) personal touch. I had wonderful chats with both Jenny and Eric (and I used their excellent recommendations on places to eat). The room was extremely clean and quiet. The coffee, scones, and fresh fruit each morning were perfect for me but it is NOT a... More

If you need a clean, comfortable, friendly place to spend a night or two this is perfect. For the Camden area, the price is right too. This was actually my second stay here this summer but the first time I discovered a gluten free option at the simple, but serviceable breakfast. Must have missed that the first time. I will... More

We stayed one night here on our way home from kayak camping in Stonington and will definitely be back. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Breakfast was delicious - homemade scones, fresh fruit and terrific coffee. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. They clearly care equally about their guests, their community, and building a strong business. The... More

We found our hosts amiable and helpful. Our room was clean and perfect for our busy schedule. We came to the area to kayak and swim. I enjoyed being in the last room in the motel row next to their chicken coop as we have chickens, too. For breakfast, Jenny provided her delicious homemade scones and muffins with rich organic... I cannot contain my enthusiasm about Birchwood. Every room has simple elegance and immaculate cleanliness. Intelligent design has reduced waste and energy consumption in clever ways that are subtle and pleasant, rather than intrusive (e.g. a skylight provides natural lighting and an alarm clock waits unplugged in the drawer rather than blaring red numbers). There is a gorgeously designed garden,... More

We found this motel on trip advisor and, based on the reviews, decided to give it a try. We were a bit concerned because the price is so reasonable in a resort area with so many pricey places. We needn't have worried. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Jenny's warm welcome and the beautiful setting relaxed us... More
