The Inn is in need of a face-lift to pull it out of the doldrums, loads of potential, just not ready for prime time. The location couldn't be better, downtown Camden is a 2 minute walk, the ocean 2 minutes, hiking trails 2 minutes. The staff is what hammers home the "Meh" feeling we walked away with. We couldn't decide... More

Who needs the overpriced B & B's in Camden, ME when you can stay in a historic inn? Glad we made this choice, because of: terrific breakfasts -- with multiple choices; huge porches for doing nothing but relaxing; 1 minute from downtown Camden and the harbor -- yet it's peaceful; all kinds of nooks and crannies for reading, talking or... Fourth visit to the Whitehall. The lobby, porch and restaurant are 5 star (the breakfast is 6!); the young staffers from Eastern Europe are enthusiastic, charming and totally absorbed in providing excellent and professional service. The rooms...well, if one accepts from the outset that you are choosing a nineteenth century hotel where of the features of modernity are simply not... More

We really enjoyed this historic inn. Very friendly staff....clean and comfortable rooms....great breakfast with large dining room! Also very nice bar area and a large lobby to relax. Short (maybe 1/2 mile?) walk to the heart of town for more restaurants and the main street shopping. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful historic feel, lovely room with a bed that felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. We had an old-fashion bath tub in our bathroom with great water pressure. The staff was friendly. The breakfast I ate at the inn was delicious, I had blueberry pancakes with sausage, fresh fruit, juice and coffee and I loved it. Overall it... More

We were looking for an inn like we see in movies and travel shows. This inn had it all. Wonderful bed with beautiful comforters. The breakfast was presented very well and as much as you would want. The waitstaff did an excellent job making sure we were satisfied.

We enjoyed our stay at the Whitehall Inn. Has a terrific ambience and its porches and public areas are lovely - decorated with beautiful period antiques. Our room (6) on the second floor was quite spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfy. My only criticisms were the size of the bathroom (quite small) - and although charming in appearance,... I have never been treated so rudely before. They messed up my reservations for the night before I was in a wedding booked me for the next night instead. They told me there was nothing they could do and that they were all booked. The owner I believe it was said even if she did make a mistake I should... More

We could not be more sorry for not being able to accommodate this wedding guest. Whomever made the mistake is a matter for debate and we acknowledge there is a 50% chance that it was our mistake. The confirmation letters, which are sent as soon as the reservation has been taken, are form letters which are generated by our reservation... More

Good but not great. Skeleton staff, just didn't have a warm welcome feel to it. Lounge was staffed by one of the waitstaff and closed early. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Tough getting bags to the room.

Whitehall inn is as it says...it's an inn, not a hotel...no room service, no minibar, no bathrobes...you get the picture...however, it is elegant and charming...it may be that Camden and it's surroundings can command these sort of prices... So, aside from me thinking that staying (probably generally) in Camden is on the expensive side, we did like the Inn. The... More
