The rooms were lovely. The hotel is absolutely charming, and quite unique. It's a great plus to be within walking distance of Main Street, a strip of local shops and restaurants. I had a wonderful experience with the staff and enjoyed everything I tried from the kitchen.

We planned to visit Portland and Freeport. Brunswick where this hotel is located was only 15to20 min drive away. It was very quiet compared to some of the reviews of other hotels. The rooms were very clean the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the continental breakfast was delicious homemade bread, muffins and pastries yogurt and fresh fruit. Stayed in a... More

Excellent service. The staff were so very accommodating to our every whim. The rooms were comfy. I think I had better sleep than I have in my own bed! And I usually wake up late, but I managed to wake early enough to have their delicious breakfast. They put yogurt and fruit in these cute jam jars. The coffee was... More

The Daniel is old on the outside, but brand new and modern on the inside! We were looking for a historic experience different from the normal chain hotel experience. The service was excellent. The decor was striking, but not the historic flavor we were hoping for.

Vicki F, I am so happy to hear that you selected The Daniel over the chain hotels in our area. We are proud of our modern decor rand pleased that you felt our service was excellent as well. This winter we plan on renovating our original building, the Federal House. This historic building will have all the modern conveniences, but... More

We were first given a room on the 3rd floor. It was small, dated, dingy and had no a/c except for some really noisy box sitting on the floor. It was a hot day and the room temp was 80. I asked for a room on a lower floor and they accomodated. The 2nd floor room not only had central... More

Thank you for your candid feedback on The Daniel Hotel. I apologize that our third floor room was not up to your expectations. The warm temperatures we experienced in the last week had our systems tested to their limits and we tried to supplement our temperatures with temporary cooling units. We have started to renovate our guest rooms and you... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Daniel, very family like atmosphere. It was very close to Bowdoin and the main street and easy access to the Highway...just have to be careful making a left turn on to main street.

Husband and I stayed at The Daniel for one night only. Staff was super accommodating and helped order us dinner that was sent to our room. It's walking distance to the best restaurants (try Trattoria Athena) and shopping in Brunswick and is convenient to the highway for trips to neighboring towns and attractions.
