The Daniel is a very well kept, hotel. The service was fantastic! Rooms were clean with nice furnishings, but the mattress was extra firm (hard). Couldn't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time. The restaurant was fantastic!

We really enjoyed our two night stay at The Daniel especially because the staff was so helpful, allowing very early check in on our first day so we could change into bike clothes. We were initially surprised by the location next to the highway but our room on the other side of the hotel was very quiet and we heard... More

The Daniel was a bit of a let down. The highlight was the Continental Breakfast. Well presented and taste good. Gym was also very nice and open 24 hours. Note the gym had television and Direct TV over each piece of aerobic equipment. I stayed in a double room with one of my children who I was visiting in Maine.... More

alterasset, Thank you for taking the time to give me your feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. I will personally take a look at both beds in room 301 to see how we can correct the squeaking noise that you experienced. I will also make a note in your guest history file to block you in a room... This was a hotel choice we made while on a road trip through New England, so was a shot in the dark (Thank you, TripAdvisor!). It is an older, grand hotel which has been completely and beautifully renovated. Our room was quite large and the linens and bath were very nice. The price was really reasonable (we were off-season). I... More

jpjpjpjpj, I was glad to see that your shot in the dark hit the target we know as The Daniel. Our renovated guest rooms and all that goes with it are one of our strengths. Our fire place does have that ability to keep our guests very comfortable and not wanting to leave. The continental breakfast is another guest favorite... More

Beautifully renovated so that it has character yet is modern. Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel bar was fun and relaxing and had mellow live music--so nice after a day if travel. This is a rating for the hotel but I must mention how good the dinner was! Also, continental breakfast was amazing, with house made baked breads, organic cereals, very... More

Rhyannon G, I was very pleased to hear that your recent stay with us was so enjoyable. Our live music on Thursday nights has been a great addition to our hotel and makes the dinner time so much more exciting. Absolutely incredible! The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were luxurious - complete with bathrobes. The food was sublime - the lobster roll cut no corners, the picanté burger was amazing, and they even added a twist to the popcorn at the bar by tossing it in a pan with bacon. The breakfast - which consisted of well... More

Loved our one night stay at this lovely, renovated hotel. We especially enjoyed meeting Linda at the wonderful continental breakfast, she was so friendly and kind. The freshly baked scones and breads by pastry chef Angie were delicious.

The room and amenities were great. Breakfast great. Service great. I didn't get to use the gym but loved that it's open 24 hours. Also didn't get to use sauna hot tub, but probably would have if I were staying longer

Great placed tucked just off of Maine Street. Lovely people working there at the front desk, the bar and the breakfast. Homemade goodies at breakfast. It is a cross between a hotel and bed and breakfast.

The staff was welcoming and made every effort to be helpful. We wish we had planned to stay longer. Again, the chocolate peanut butter granola bar served at breakfast was wonderful and we would life the recipe.
