A group of us local women had reserved the space by the fireplace for our monthly Brunswick "Wednesday, Women and Wine" event. Wendy, our server, made sure we were well taken care of even though she had to deal with about 20 women with separate bills. The room was cosy and comfortable and service was great. I will be sure... This hotel was amazing. Pretty pricey but had everything we wanted and is walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. We stayed 2 nights in one of the suites which was like an apartment. The tv needs to be bigger. The food was amazing. Again, expensive but very worth it.

After coming in late from a blustery drive, the kitchen stayed open just to accommodate us. Warm, clean rooms awaited us and even a small workout room in the basement allowed us to stay in shape while the wind whirled outside. Need I say more? Only, I wish the coffee were stronger for us coffee snobs.

A friend and I took the Amtrak to Brunswick for the weekend and stayed at the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern. Because we took the train we left town late and got there early. The hotel kindly checked us in early when we arrived and allowed us to leave our bags the day we left so we could explore Brunswick on... More

Having gone to Bowdoin as well as my daughter, we have stayed in many places in the Brunswick area and generally in the best of what is available. Our stay here recently puts it in #1 stop for various reasons. Location is right next to Chamberlain house right across the street from one of the main entrances to the college.... More

We stayed here in February, attending an athletic event at Bowdoin College. When we checked into the hotel mid-afternoon, the sun was shining and our room seemed warm and inviting. We attended a 6:00 PM function in the private dining room (more on that in a minute), and when returned to our room our opinion changed 180 degrees. First, as... More

Dear Quackbury, I am extremely disappointed to hear of your experience that you had while visiting our hotel. The event organizer asked us to assist in getting everyone seated or started through the buffet after realizing that no one was going up for the food. I have communicated with the team that the event seemed rushed thereafter; many people stayed... More

Good drinks, nice people and good food... But if you go there more than once you better get used to eating the same entree, menu never changes and there's never any specials. Poor choice since the locals would give the way more business if they added some variety. Plus, how fresh or made to order can the food be if... More

Thank You Mainegirl87 for your comments. Our menu typically changes seasonally, and we always look forward to feedback from our local guests to help enhance both our daily specials, as well as add to our regular menu offerings. I am sorry that the servers did not verbally communicate the daily specials on your recent visit. We have discussed the need... More

My daughter was married and had her reception here. It was a wonderful venue, food and service were excellent. Rooms are nice, she had a suite which was nicely layed out. We've also eaten in the Tavern many times. The food is great, try the lobster risotto! An outside patio is nice in the summer and they offer a wonderful... More

We'd stayed at the Brunswick Hotel for 2 nights just before New Year's Eve 2013, so a little over a year ago. It has a great location for those visiting Bowdoin or in Brunswick for other reasons. We were travelling with our 2 small children and a baby. After arriving at our room, we decided that it was way too... More

The hotel is well located in town, next to the train station and Bowdoin College. It is one or two steps above the standard economy hotel. With some attention by the staff it could be close to a boutique hotel. The entrance has rugged handsome rugs with bamboo furniture. It is what one would expect in one of those old... More
