This place is a classic Maine B&B. The house is well maintained, but nothing fancy. Bathrooms have been refurbished, with pretty basic fixtures. The location is what makes this a truley unique experience. A huge meadow slopes down to the wonderful beach and provides a great place to walk or just sit and view the ocean. We had the corner... My stay at the "Lookout" was lovely!. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful from the get go. The owner Butch onsite but not in your way to make you feel right at home in the Maine way. The photo's on the website do not do the Lookout justice. The Inn and the property reflect a part of Maine of... More

This is a lovely B &B type of inn. Old house with lovely rooms great views. No frills but such a gorgeous setting. Very friendly staff. Food simply cooked. Blue Hill Bay is gorgeous and most rooms have views looking out. The inn is very old with of character.

Went here with 2 other friends and the location is what your going for, not the sleeping accomodations. The beach is a real rocky, icy water. We were there in August. The Winter house is where we stayed. We had a great cooking kitchen, which we like to do. But the walls are paper thin, and the bathrooms are both... More

To say The Lookout has character is an understatement. The place itself proudly displays its long heritage, also on display is the real character - its proprietor. Great setting makes this place very popular for weddings, often booked for sizeable family gatherings. Rooms at the Inn (main house) vary widely as to amenities, cottages are an excellent option but are... More

We chose the Lookout's restaurant for a celebration because we've had such great meals there in the past. They were having an off night, which we understand, but the rib eye steak was not like any other I've had. It didn't have that artery-clogging great fatty taste I was going for.

A friend suggested the Lookout Inn, and we were so lucky to stay there. The staff was great, the food delicious, and it was nice to unplug for a minute in a place that felt as though we went back in time. We're heading back there again this summer!

It was a last minute decision to go on a mini trip to maine and I got lucky that The Lookout Inn had a cottage available for our stay and it is a pet-friendly hotel. We brought my 10-year old grandson and our puppy. The first thing the came out of my grandson's mouth was "I feel like I'm in... More
