Had the weather been sunny the inn was in a perfect spot. However, since the inn is in a remote area, the weather is all they have going for them. So since it was raining, our stay was, to say the least, awful! We did not receive a warm welcome either. We tried to pull close to the office to... more

Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge advertises itself as a bed and breakfast only. We came in late, around 2:00 pm. It didn't give us much time to get lunch. The Inn Keepers, Katy and Ted whipped us up delicious butternut squash ravioli and a beautiful array of fruit. The four of us set out on the deck with the most breathtaking view... more

We are just returning from 3 nights at Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge. I just had to write to say our visit was perfect. This lodge is directly on the water with beautiful ocean views. We stayed in the annex and could see the water from our room and sitting on the porch outside. However the most lovely views are from the... more

The website for the Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge claims they offers guests “rustic luxury.” During our stay there, we discovered the lodge was indeed “rustic” but certainly not “luxury.” Arriving at Eggemoggin, my wife, children and I found that the “beautiful waterfront rooms” described on the website were not on the waterfront. Our building was a good 500 yards from the... more

Such a pleasant location to stay and relax. The lodge is gorgeous, comfortable and has a fireplace for those relaxing evenings inside. During the daylight hours we spent time outside on the wonderful deck with ocean views. We watched the sea gulls, the boats, the sunrise, the lobstermen. The staff was very friendly and met all our needs. They even kept... more

We were a German family with 2 kids (5 and 8 y.) and looked for a Maine adventure - and we got a marvelous one ! We loved this clean and kids-friendly block-house atmosphere with its great views. The staff was gorgeous, in particular this great cook who sang like Frank Sinatra. The delicious lobsters were just caught in the... more

My girlfriend and I (we are in our late 20's) stayed here for 3 days and loved it because we found it to be exactly what we were looking for. If you are looking for a place away from the hubbub of Bar Harbor (it's 1hr away), and just want a place to hang out and relax, this is a... more

This place has a lovely location- nice views from the rooms in the main lodge. The lodge room shown on the website is very nice. The staff is not helpful. They do not wlecome you. They do not help you with your bags. They watch you carry them up the back stairs by the garbage. If you need something they... more

I am very very picky. As far as a family vaction, this was fabulous. My husband and I went with our 10 year old son and another family with the same particulars. As relaxing as the vacation was, it was exciting and included many adventures. I am a very sedate person and all the activities were great. Each day was... more

Our group ranged in age from 8 yrs. old to 65 yrs. old and there was something for everyone! The facilities are beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the staff could not have been nicer! Whale watching, sea kayaking, lobstering, coastal exploring...all wonderful experiences. Plenty of things to do or just sit on the deck and relax. We would highly... more
