We did not know what to expect and for the price, I felt it was slightly sub-par. It was a nice, homey place and very convenient as far as having breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks right downstairs. The innkeeper/manager was a man and he did make every attempt to be friendly. We never met the rude female manager everyone... more

This is a revised review I am posting after speaking with the lodge owner; it is long and detailed, but honest based on my experience. First, the Eggemoggin is apparently under new ownership in 2009 so older reviews may be inaccurate. That being said, my experience attempting to stay there in 2009 was negative. We did not actually stay there,... more

Almost hate to tell you this, but I spent a long weekend with my wife at the Eggemoggin Lodge and it proved to be a great find. Just had to share. No TV, no phone! Just a beautiful quiet waterfront hideaway . An understated, comfortable environment makes this place a relaxing escape from the rush of daily life. The service... more

What a wonderful stay. This lodge sits on the ocean front in/near the town of Brooklin, ME. The new owners acquired the lodge in Jan and had reopened in May (2009) of this year. I can say that Iwe thorougly enjoyed the stay and look forward to going back. I add this because there was an old write up on... more

Very disappointed with the service at the lodge. I definitely expected more after dropping $200/ night to stay out in the middle of nowhere with the closest McDonald's 40 miles away. When I booked the room, I was told that the hotel was pet friendly. Instead of being welcomed upon our arrival to the lodge, the innkeeper was rude to... more

Had a great two night stay at the lodge and enjoyed good weather and a pleasant stay. The rooms were simple and clean. We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the dining and lounge area and thought the restaurant was reasonably priced. We enjoyed the young wait staff and the cook came out to check whether we enjoyed our dinner. It... more

We were touring the coast of Maine and shopped in Blue Hill and took a drive out to Brooklin and stopped at Wooden Boats school and shop. We drove to Eggomoggin Oceanfront Lodge and had a super lunch and service. It was a beautiful lodge with post and beams ceiling and the most fabulous stone fireplace. It is a place... more

I stumbled upon this picturesque Lodge while heading from Blue Hill to Deer Isle and spent the BEST birthday by being treated royally by innkeeper Tony and chef Linda. The rustic looking but not too rustic lodge, restaurant and private dock and pier are a welcome and quiet stopping point for any Maine coast adventurer. Not much else to do... more

We arrived the weekend of the 4th of july for a friends wedding. We were the last guests to arrive and had to stand awkwardly in the dining area with our luggage while we waited for hotel staff to help us. We were finally escorted to our room which shared a wall with the kitchen and was directly across from... more

Had the weather been sunny the inn was in a perfect spot. However, since the inn is in a remote area, the weather is all they have going for them. So since it was raining, our stay was, to say the least, awful! We did not receive a warm welcome either. We tried to pull close to the office to... more
