We stayed at the Highland Lake Resort in the Deluxe 2 room suite for 2 days while visiting Maine. The overall experience was great. No major issues. The hotel is well maintained for it's age and it's pretty clear that the owner cares about upkeep. There are some rough edges but there are also signs of repairs and upgrades being... More

I've been coming to the Bridgton/Naples area for 40 years. When my family and I decided to stay at the Highland Lake Resort back in 2001, we realized immediately we'd found our home away from home. We've been coming back every year since. The owner, Woody, is a great (and funny) guy who is always making improvements to the rooms.... More

Horrible experience!! Rooms were very outdated. Musty and stale, clothes ended up smelling like the rooms. Sign above sink, stating $250 charge if didn't wash dishes. Mold growing in another families shower and host was extremly unaccomodating, not available to discuss situation after he received our cash for a two night minimum stay and over charged us by $40 from... Well, I was threatened by the bridal party this past weekend with bad reviews if I didn't allow them to keep their loud music on till "10 or 11", and I see that at least one of their friends has done so. This review is obviously SO far in left field that you can see why many businesses hate the... More

A truly "magical" place to stay. Friendly and jovial host who has a delicious sense of humour! Woody made us so welcome. Excellent room. Wonderful setting and the opportunity to canoe could not be wasted. Also close to golf course where again we were made most welcome. Sorry we broke the coffee machine

So nice to have someone visit with a similar sense of the absurd. Even if you DID break the coffee maker! (Actually, I was able to fix the minor problem, so please don't feel guilty.) Thank you for joining us from so far away. Meeting people from other countries is just one of the benefits of owning a lodging property.... More

My sister and I had another wonderful 2 week vacation at Highland Lake Resort this month. Woody and Dee are great hosts; they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The property is beautiful (right on magnificent Highland Lake), well-maintained and clean. HLR is a perfect spot. We are soooooooo happy we found this gem. The... More

Always glad to have you both visit here for your summer vacation. We truly appreciate those who make their trip to Highland Lake an annual tradition. We've had people visiting with us since we bought the property in 1997, and are happy that people are starting their "new" traditions all the time. See you next year! More

Clean rooms fun trip for the family. Wifi was free. And use of paddle boat was fun. Lots to do in area and nice people all around. I found the staff at the hotel very kind and helpful. We met people that have been going to this resort for 40 years.

We just spent two wonderful nights at the Highland Lake Resort in Bridgton, Maine. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, comfy room and of course the natural beauty of Highland Lake. We were in Maine on vacation and this place really checked all the boxes for us. The private beach, the beautiful views up the lake, and it's located in one... More

So happy your stay here was so memorable! I've actually been to Palm Bay in the winter, and I greatly appreciated the beauty of the area when I'd just come from the cold and snow! I'm also glad you got to explore the town of Bridgton as well. With the great places to shop, eat, and visit, it really is... More

The rooms are a little small. If you are going there to stay mostly in the room, then dont. The tvs are so small that i need glasses to watch it. They are probs 15'' they should at least have 30 or 40 inches. Also the bathroom is small but the shower curtain was awful. However the amentites view and... More

I must agree with you on the room size. I, too, wouldn't want to stay in one of our least expensive rooms for a long time myself. Unfortunately, the rooms sizes are what they are, though other rooms are larger than the Regular Room with shower you were in. (The reason for the room sizes is stated in our response... More

Highland Lake Resort was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We really enjoyed the lake (via the canoes / kayaks) and the grounds are well-kept. The managers were very welcoming. Wish Maine wasn't so far from Michigan!

So glad you had a great time! When I was a kid, my family owned a small camp on a lake less than an hour from here. I, too, enjoy exploring the lakes from a canoe, and find them to be tranquil and relaxing. Sorry we're so far from Michigan. I'll have to see what we can do about that.... More

Very friendly managers- Woody and Dee. We have be going to lakes region of Maine for 25 years and have always rented a camp for 2 weeks to a month. Thank you for your kind sentiments! Yes, the rooms are a bit small, since the building was the first "motel" built in the area not too long after the end of World War II. Back then, people had gas and rubber for tires, and just wanted to drive! Small motels and motor inns popped up around America to let people... More
