We had the quintessential b&b experience- comfortable, quiet, and clean accommodations, welcoming and attentive hostess, and truly delicious food! Saundra goes out of her way to make sure her guests have everything they need and feel at home. She puts a great deal of thought and effort into her breakfasts which are not only delicious but feature fresh local ingredients.... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the Stowe Room. The home is beautiful, warm, and inviting; made only more so by it's loving and kind owner Saundra. She made us feel like we were home from college being pampered by our endearing mother. Breakfast was wonderful and she went out of her way to make a delicious... More

If you want a quiet, beautiful place to stay with a gourmet, healthy breakfast, this is the place to stay!! My husband and I stayed in the Chamberlain room, the whole inn is gorgeous. The innkeeper is so hospitable and wow, can she cook! Trust me,you will not be disappointed!

My preference when traveling is a B&B over a hotel. I enjoy the extra space to relax, prefer the personal interaction with an innkeeper and breakfasts are usually a wonderful added bonus. My son and I stayed 2 nights at Fiddlehead for an accepted students visit at the University of Maine Orono. The inn is a lovely piece of old... More

We were in Bangor for one night for the American Folk Festival and stayed at the Fiddlehead Inn. What an absolutely lovely experience! The room was cozy and comfortable and everything was decorated with great taste and care. The decor of the whole house is so charming. It was a pleasure just to be there. We arrived a little early... The place is lovely, and so is the innkeeper. The house was really beautiful and cozy, and I absolutely LOVED the food (we had fruit juice, fresh coffee, gluten free banana bread, and broccoli quiche). It was a very short walk from Downtown Bangor, so the location's great too. It was a bit on the pricey side, but because the... More

Saundra was friendly, kind, and attentive to our needs. It really was the best of both worlds: our room was beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing (as we would expect from any high-quality accommodations), but it also felt like an intimate home-away-from-home. I loved that we were asked to remove our shoes - that other reviewer can try to defend... More

The aroma of banana bread baking, the friendly face of Saundra and the cleanliness and beauty of the inn are all great reasons to choose The Fiddlehead! We have stayed in b&b's from Seattle to Sedona, from Victoria to Nueva Laredo, and found our experience well worth the price at the Fiddlehead. The rooms are well appointed and we enjoyed... More

After reading glowing TripAdvisor reviews we decided on the Fiddlehead Inn for our last night in Maine. We did not start our visit out on a good footing. We arrived "too early" according to the innkeeper at 2:30 pm after a long drive from Eastport and we were asked to come back later or have a seat on the very... More

Why stay at an impersonal hotel in Bangor when you can have a more personal experience right in nearby Brewer? Saundra will make you a wonderful gourmet breakfast in her charmingly appointed, historic inn. The garden is a little oasis, and each of the rooms feature unique antique decor. We stayed in the Chamberlain room with private bath and sitting... More
