We were in Bangor for one night for the American Folk Festival and stayed at the Fiddlehead Inn. What an absolutely lovely experience! The room was cozy and comfortable and everything was decorated with great taste and care. The decor of the whole house is so charming. It was a pleasure just to be there. We arrived a little early... The place is lovely, and so is the innkeeper. The house was really beautiful and cozy, and I absolutely LOVED the food (we had fruit juice, fresh coffee, gluten free banana bread, and broccoli quiche). It was a very short walk from Downtown Bangor, so the location's great too. It was a bit on the pricey side, but because the... More

Saundra was friendly, kind, and attentive to our needs. It really was the best of both worlds: our room was beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing (as we would expect from any high-quality accommodations), but it also felt like an intimate home-away-from-home. I loved that we were asked to remove our shoes - that other reviewer can try to defend... More

The aroma of banana bread baking, the friendly face of Saundra and the cleanliness and beauty of the inn are all great reasons to choose The Fiddlehead! We have stayed in b&b's from Seattle to Sedona, from Victoria to Nueva Laredo, and found our experience well worth the price at the Fiddlehead. The rooms are well appointed and we enjoyed... More

After reading glowing TripAdvisor reviews we decided on the Fiddlehead Inn for our last night in Maine. We did not start our visit out on a good footing. We arrived "too early" according to the innkeeper at 2:30 pm after a long drive from Eastport and we were asked to come back later or have a seat on the very... More

Why stay at an impersonal hotel in Bangor when you can have a more personal experience right in nearby Brewer? Saundra will make you a wonderful gourmet breakfast in her charmingly appointed, historic inn. The garden is a little oasis, and each of the rooms feature unique antique decor. We stayed in the Chamberlain room with private bath and sitting... More

An absolutely lovely place! If you plan on visiting Bangor, ME, instead of going to a generic hotel, choose to stay in a place with personality. This Victorian style house (a historic house, btw), newly renovated, totally charmed me. Every room and corner is carefully decorated to the last detail. The atmosphere takes you back to the 1800's and the... More

My wife and I are very particular when we choose Bed and Breakfasts Inns. We read the reviews on the Fiddlehead Inn and decided to find out for ourselves if they were true. The reviews were ever so spot on. The Inn was spotless. The decor appropriate to the homes era. We stayed in the Joshua Chamberlain suite and we... More

Really charming and comfortable. We felt very welcome. Saundra took great care of us, so friendly and helpful! We stayed in the Joshua Chamberlain room and had an adjacent sitting room and bathroom (shared, although we were the only visitors that night). All very clean, roomy and inviting. Like staying at someone's house--someone who is eager to make sure you... More

There very few B and B's in the Brewer-Bangor area of Maine. We stayed while on vacation. Sandra, the innkeeper, was terrific. The Inn is spotless, the breakfasts yummy, and the location quiet. We were so very comfortable. Highly recommended.
