This is truly a gem in Boothbay Harbor. Yes it is dated from early 70s but a real classic motel. Great location (short walk to harbor), rooms were large and very clean. The owner is one of the best parts. It may take you 1/2 hour to check in listening to the stories but it was part of the experience.

July, 2014 - took a day trip to Boothbay Harbor, ME to eat lobsters, walk around the harbor and take a boat tour. We stayed here at Seagate Motel on the recommendation of another motel that was full. It was in EASY walking distance to town. On the walk you will pass many great shops, stores, historical society museum, and... More

My husband & I thought this "motel" was cute & closer to downtown Boothbay. Boy, it is closer & affordable but you had better check out the beds "BEFORE" you sign on the dotted line. We both have pretty bad backs but never had a problem w/the beds in any other place we've stayed before. I literally woke in tears.... More

We have stayed here many times and have always have enjoyed the rooms and owner, she is a hoot! She is the hardest working innkeeper in town. Great breakfast and location. Spotless, convenient, and homey. Blast from the past comfortable accommodations.

We have been staying here for many years,by ourselves and also with our two daughters, and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spotless, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, and the owner is more than willing to chat. Recently, we tried another motel which is rated more highly(we had stayed there long ago) just out of curiosity, and felt cramped and... More

The rooms here will take you back to the 80's - except for the flat screen tv. They are clean, with room enough. The best is the location however; walking distance to the harbor. I don't think you'll find anything closer at this price.

We stayed here 2 summers ago, and decided to return. Spacious room, fun pool and friendly breakfast. Great value and easy walk to downtown. Would recommend to families on a budget. Mary the owner tries hard to accommodate everyone and is fun to talk to.

My husband, son, and I wanted a last-minute weekend getaway and chose the Seagate Motel for it's price and availability. We arrived very late on a Friday night and our room was ready as promised. The room was very clean when we arrived and housekeeping cleaned it promptly the next day. It is in a great location with a wonderful... More

We were greeted right away and treated very nicely. We arrived early and was able to get a room right away. Marie was very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again when in Boothbay Harbor. Would recommend to anyone close to downtown Boothbay harbor where there is plenty to do.

We like the fact that this motel is family run & they try to make your stay enjoyable. Granted it is not a 5 star motel, rooms are outdated but they are large and always clean. There are places to hang towels, put make on etc, unlike some of the newer hotels where there is no space to get ready.... More
