This was my family's first trip to Maine and we looked forward to it. When contacting "George" he rushed us into thinking we had to reserve or lose a room. When we arrived, we were delighted from the outside, then we walked in. Our room, on the second floor was musty, very old furnishings and had ants. We called George... more

We booked this hotel trough Expedia, and used the hotel's own website to get a feel for what to expect. This was a big mistake - from our arrival, the owner denied all knowledge of the booking, despite me having e-mail confirmation. A room was found, small but quite comfortable, but the bathroom, particularly the "bath' falls well short of... more

Don't go here. If you're looking for charm, ambience, and a full-service sit-down breakfast, you won't find it. If you just want a place to sleep, you can find better places with better or comparable rates. 1) The "continental" breakfast consisted of coffee, bagels, some fruit, croissants, poorly presented buffet-style in a narrow hallway with everyone getting in each other's... more

Remember visiting Grandma's house? The peeling wallpaper, creeky stairs, cleaning fluids left in the hallway from a job half finished? Add some antiques, a comfortable bed and George, the Inn keeper. The location of this hotel is ideal. It is located near the waterfront and shops. Parking is available behind the Inn....and it goes down hill from here. My biggest... more

My husband and I just returned from a two day stay at this Inn. The room was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. Satalitte TV, a nice shower and big fluffy towels were also appreciated. We had a terrific view of the Harbor and enjoyed sitting out on the deck, both in the morning and in the evening. We... more

We made a big mistake. We drove up to Boothbay Harbor without any reservations, and by the time we got there, the only vacancy we could find was at the Harbour Towne Inn. The room was shoddily maintained and the bed was mediocre. The bathroom came straight out of a two-star motel. And breakfast was a total joke. It was... more

Looks and words are deceiving. Don't be fooled by the Web site pictures and the descriptions or the outside facade. This place is horrible. It claims to be the Finest on the Waterfront but it is the worst Inn and Innkeeper that we've ever experienced. All we could think of was that it was like the movie Psycho. We should... more

This place is BAD news. The story is too long to write in detail but in short--we booked at this place, our credit card was charged and when my husband called to confirm about two weeks prior to our trip, the owner was extremely rude and could not find us in his reservations. Feeling uneasy with the situation, my husband... more

On a recent trip, this B & B was the most expensive, and by far, the worst in hospitality and accommodations, we experienced in a 9-day vacation through Maine and Nova Scotia. George, the owner, was extremely confrontational and due to a reservation mix up on his part, the only room available would never be shown in his brochure. Only... more

What looked to be a perfectly lovely accommodation from your web-site and the brochure, turned out to be the worst B & B experience I have had in 20 years of staying in them. We were traveling back from Nova Scotia and taking the CAT, the high speed ferry to Bar Harbor. Our initial plans were to travel down to... more
