My husband and I spent Columbus Day Weekend at Captain Sawyers Place. I was so thrilled with the room! Very attractive and clean. Quilt on the bed was a nice touch and the stenciling on the wall was true to the era of the place. Kim, the hostess, makes this B & B outstanding! She is so warm and is... More

My wife and I have stayed at Captain Sawyers on more than one trip. This is not the fanciest B&B in the area so if you like fancy try the Admirals Quarters at double the price. For the money, you can's beat Captain Sawyers. The breakfast is always very good and the rooms are clean and tidy. The house was... More

I spent three day last June at Captain Sawyers and Kim was a wonderful hostess! I love dogs and it was wonderful to have one to pet all the time! What a sweetheart! The breakfasts we great and there was a room we could play cards in or if it wasn't in use we could use the dining room. The... More

Stayed for one night, looking for something with a bit more personality than the usual waterside inns and motels. And the promise of 'quality time' with the resident dog (a large Akita) was another inducement. As it happened, the dog was rather laid-back, and we didn't see to much of him. But we enjoyed our stay all the same. Not... More

We stayed for a couple of days early September in the Heritage room on the 1st floor. It was large, bright and clean with a view of the harbour. Large well equipped bathroom. There is a balcony on the 1st floor with table and chairs so ideal for reading or an evening drink. Kim is a very welcoming hostess. There... More

The Positives--Captain Sawyer's place is perfectly located right in the middle of the waterfront area. The house is charming from the outside, although they were performing road construction directly in fron of the Inn. The owner was very nice and welcoming, and the breakfast in the morning was actually quite tasty! She made homemade blueberry cake...a Maine treat for sure.... More

We stayed here for one night and couldn't have asked for a nice place to enjoy Boothbay Harbor. June is a quiet time, very few tourists. Capt. Sawyers was lovely. Beautifully decorated rooms in an old Captains house, right on the water, lovely wraparound porches to enjoy the view or just relax, close to everything, yet quiet. Breakfast was amazing....fresh... My boyfriend and I took a trip to Maine to celebrate the holidays and finally having some time to relax. I picked this inn because of the great location close to the water and the town, but also because for a gorgeous king room it was under $100! Our room was clean and had a private balcony, the breakfast was... More

We were very happy with our two night stay at Captain Sawyer's Place. The inn is located just steps from shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed people watching from the large front porch. Our room was small but comfortable and breakfast included muffins/coffee cakes, cereal, quiche and waffles. Prices were very reasonable, the innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. Would stay... This is an old sea captains house right in town, the location is very convenient for all the shops, restaurants and the water. A great wraparound porch on the 1st floor and porch on second floor that offers a nice view of the harbor. The owner is very warm and makes you feel right at home. The breakfast, quiche and... More
