We arrived at Thistle Inn early hoping to check-in early, however no one was there. We had to ring a doorbell but no one answered. Once we arrived back we were directed to our room which was Victory Chimes. It was located on the first floor. This room has 3 windows in it and all can be looked through by... More

My husband and I were visiting Boothbay just for one night and were enticed to stay at the Thistle Inn based on the ratings of some other reviews. When we arrived at the inn there was only a doorbell that said Push For Service. When a staff member greeted us she said "we were only supposed to have one check-in... More

We stayed in the Victory Chimes room - simple & exquisite. Comfortable. Spacious. Peaceful. Our room had the feel of a luxury spa. The bathroom was very spacious. The bed comfortable. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Excellent place to stay. Super charming with amazing food and service. Special attention given to meal presentation and attractive dish ware. We loved the third floor spacious room, quiet and removed from the bustling restaurant below. Highly recommend this inn.

We loved the Thistle Inn! Stacy makes you feel so welcome and is so helpful in advising you as to activities/shopping. The room was fine - a real bargain price, but the food is superb. We ate there 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. We loved having drinks at the bar after dinner and walking 16 steps to... More

We stayed at several B&B's on a trip along the Maine coastline. This was our only disappointment. Our reception was non existent. We stayed 2 nights. The Inn smells unpleasant. Our original room on the third floor was an embarrassment and should not be offered for occupancy. Luckily on our 2nd night a staff member allowed us to switch to... More

I picked up my daughter in Boston after finishing her freshman year and arrived at the Inn in time for a late relaxing (and incredible) dinner before retiring to our very comfortable room. Having chatted with Max at great length while we ate - the exhausted now sophomore did not make it up in time for all of the activities... More

Really lovely place - was travelling for business and found myself with an overnight in Boothbay Harbor. Found this place with online reservations. Hosts were lovely - room was clean, comfortable and spacious! Space is not something you find often in old New England Inns. I arrived at happy hour and the pub is clearly a favorite with locals as... More

The Thistle Inn was originally built as a residence in the 1860's for a sea captain . . . Reed. One can only imagine what Booth Bay Harbor was like back then . . . Captain Reed returning from a voyage, crossing the large granite stoop, opening the door, ascending the narrow steps, traversing the wide pine planks. He was... More
