We were a family of two grandparents, one daughter, and four grandchildren (ages 14,11, 10, 6). We went as part of an elderhostel group. It was a week I still dream about. There was something for each of us. The food was extraordinary. The sailing instructors were knowledgeable and patient. The rustic cabins were quite comfortable. The beauty of the... more

My husband and I booked our week at Linekin Bay knowing absolutely nothing about the resort or its accommodations. We just wanted to go to Maine and figured if we didn't like Linekin we'd go someplace else. We have three children ages 8, 4 and 3. We're also a family that likes to camp, likes the outdoors, and we don't... more

My husband and I were married at the Linekin Bay Resort this past summer. When we first saw the resort in September 2008, we fell in love with it! We new our guests--who avid readers, sailers, hikers, kayakers, and campers--would be able to have a good time and get a good taste of what a Maine vacation is all about.... more

I have been traveling from the deep south to Maine for 10 years in the summer and fall to come and stay at the Linekin Bay Resort. The landscape is breathtaking, the people friendly, and the food extraordinary. more

Our family, ranging in age from 12 to 3, returned in August from our fourth consecutive summer vacation at Linekin Bay. We had a wonderful time and will return next year. I originally choose Linekin because I grew up sailing and wanted my children to learn to sail. This is one of the few family sailing camps. They have a... more

This was our ninth annual Linekin Bay Resort vacation. Our boys are now 11 and 13 years old and they can't wait to go again next year! The rooms are rustic but comfortable. The food is plentiful and delicious and the international summer staff are pleasant and engaging. Recent additions include a small bar and lounge and the availability of... more

If you like Maine and water add sailing and 3 good meals a day, friendly staff and a dedicated clientele(some like us have been coming for decades) this is the place for you. Over the last 23 years we have come back 10 times and all of the... more

Our family has been coming to Linekin Bay Resort (LBR) for many years. My wife and kids learned to sail here and did well enough to win a regatta on one of the race days. We found the boats to be quite adequate for novice and experienced sailors alike, even though the boats take some punishment from the lesser knowledgeable... more

Linekin Bay Resort is a treasure from the past that is well worth a visit. We just spent our seventh August there during the last 20 years and found that the resort remains as satisfying as our first visit. Linekin Bay preserves its origins as a rustic Maine summer camp for kids and their families. The accommodations are rustic; the... more

Linekin Bay Resort offers a beautiful, natural setting for an authentic Maine experience. Using the sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and rowboats included in the rates, a guest can watch: lobster fishermen pulling their traps from the bay, sea birds fishing for their dinner, seals basking in the sun on rocks at low tide, and dolphins playing tag beside moving water craft.... more
