If you're lucky enough to be touring Maine's coast with your furry friend, we highly recommend a stay at Brown's Wharf in beautiful Boothbay Harbor. While the main hotel does not allow pets, their private "carriage house" across the street--complete with sweeping views of the harbor, a large backyard and front deck--represents an ideal stay for both you and your... more

In the tourism industry it is not uncommon to hear ads for paradise to be found here or there and as humans we scramble to these crazy destinations for a glimpse of a peaceful, serene and enjoyable reprieve from the daily grind. In my experiences, I have sadly learned that for the majority of those destinations you cannot experience those... more

Our 6th year at Browns Wharf. As always, perfect ! Lobster Boat Race Weekend, usually on Fathers Day Weekend. We use to stay at Browns before and after making the ferry trip out to Island Inn @ Monheagan Island on three day weekends. We skipped Monheagan last couple years. Just stayed in Boothbay at Browns. People are much friendly here.... more

We stayed her for Windjammer days and stayed in the cottage that allows pets, although we did not have a pet. The cottage was very clean and had two double beds, a patio/deck to overlook the bay. The cottage had a partial view of the bay which would have been a plus if not for the fog.. It was a... more

My wife and I spent two nights at Brown's Wharf while we explored Boothbay Harbor. Our room was a waterfront room with a deck that looked right out on the Harbor and the boats and slips of the wharf. It was simply amazing to sleep with the ocean breeze coming through the sliding screen door, and to wake up in... more

After finding ourselves without a hotel room for the night (mistake at another lodging that we'd pre-booked), we were tired, cold and desperate for a warm, clean hotel room. We stumbled upon Brown's Wharf Inn, which was advertising $99/night rooms. Since it was nearly dusk, and we were staying only one night, we asked the front desk lady if we... more

Arrived at Brown's Wharf on the quiet side of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where the giant yellow-slickered fisherman stands, in a light fog and evening chill after three long, cold, rainy, rather un-friendly nights on Monheghan Island. I was greeted like an old friend at Brown's and given a warm, harbor front room that welcomed me like home after a long... more

Good grief!!!!!!!!!! We needed a nice break. We wanted to return to Booth Bay. We love it. We booked a room at Browns and from what we read of the reviews we expected NO ISSUES. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a very long day we went back to our room tired and wanting to relax for the evening. From 10-midnight the smoke alarm... more

We stayed at Brown’s this past Fall during our East Coast Fall trip. We chose Brown’s based on reviews from this site. We are so happy we did. First, I will not repeat the many glowing accolades on this site because we agree with them. A few other observations, though; First, our room, (third floor corner), seemed to have a... more
