As we traveled up the coast of Maine, we decided to stay at Barncastle after searching for B&B's between Camden and Bar Harbor. Called at 6PM with an expected 9PM arrival and fortunately they had one room available for that evening - the Turret Room or room 3. We arrived shortly after 9 and upon check-in were told the kitchen/restaurant... More

We were a party of four and enjoyed another fine dinner last night at the Barncastle. Maine crabcakes were perfect, with an excellent side salad and garlic bread. Twice baked potato and bacon wrapped scallops were also very good (I was told by my companions). Service was great and atmosphere was lovely. What's not to like?!

The rooms are large and nicely done. No central air...not sure if they put in window units in summer. Owners are so friendly! The dining rooms are cozy and the food and price were just right. So close to Bluehill!

I saw the sign and decided to stop. I was glad I did. Rooms are not new but are very clean and quiet. Shower is a little small for a guy 6'6" and 280lbs. The resturant was nice, very pleasant staff, and the food was quite good.

Four of us had dinner there last night and the food was quite good. Pizza is the forte but also the sandwiches and salads everyone liked. Pretty standard bar fare with a good selection of beer both in the bottle and on tap. Wine list was pretty abbreviated but adequate. They were quite busy and the service was on the... More

We ate at the restaurant and had pizza takeout another night during our vacation. Not bad for the money. Cozy fire place while you wait. Friendly but hurried staff. A little of the best en path but easy to find.

One rarely encounters accommodations that are both comfortable and unique, the Barncastle offers both. The lack of formality is refreshing after the forced "hospitality" offered by larger main stream establishments. The food is both creative and diverse, their wood fired pizza is delicious and the chicken pot pie was divine. The room amenities are well thought out, beds are comfortable... More

We recently spent three nights in the Barncastle hotel. The hotel houses a bustling restaurant that serves a variety of menu choices from pizza to sliders to fancier entrees. The food is tasty and the portions are ample. A bar is available as well. We stayed in a delightful room that was nicely and comfortably decorated. The bed was firm... More

My husband and I have eaten at Barncastle three times. We found the food to be average but the pizza to be above average. The restaurant is modestly decorated but comfortable and the staff is friendly. If you are looking for a casual pizza dinner you won't be disappointed at Barncastle.
