An absolutely lovely place to stay! The owner is extremely welcoming and truly makes you feel at home. Everything is kept in florals, a little old fashioned (but by no means dusty or worn out!) and feeling like a good old English B&B. There is, of course, an afternoon tea available and if you want also a glass of sherry... More

We stayed here for one night en route to Nova Scotia (arrived after dark, left at 8:00 AM). The accommodation was easy to find. A warm welcome given by proprietor, Lawrence, who talked us through breakfast times and complementary drinks (a nice touch). He was happy to prepare breakfast for us at a time that suited us for our onward... More

We spent two nights at Austin's Holidae House and we're glad we did! The wallpaper in our room may have a few rips, but that didn't affect our stay one bit. Laurence and Marcia are wonderful, caring innkeepers who prepare the best breakfasts. The eggs from their own chickens, Laurence's "happy hens", are not to be missed! Oh, so good... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway, and it was truly a lovely and comfortable place. As Laurence said when we arrived, that we should feel at home, and we absolutely did. Laurence and his wife Marcia were warm and inviting, and make some of the tastiest french toast I've had. Our room was very nicely decorated,... More

If I'm honest, my first impressions of this place weren't good. Everything seemed a little careworn with little bits of peeling wallpaper, chipped woodwork and threadbare carpets suggesting that a little redecorating wouldn't go amiss. Laurence, the eccentric English host, also seemed a little creepy at first! But first impressions can be wrong. Over the two days we spent at... More

Hospitality oozes everywhere at Austin's Holidae House. Lawrence and Marcia are perfect hosts. The Inn is immaculate. Breakfasts are delicious. There is always time for dinner recommendations, travel plans or just old fashion conversation. We loved it. Kurt and Maryellen N.J

We came upon The Holidae House by chance and are very happy that we did. The best of an English B&B transplanted into a Maine Victorian guest house. That includes warm welcome from Maurice and his American wife Marcia, good conversation, a complimentary after dinner drink, a delicious breakfast, a comfortable room and bed and a very reasonable price, especially... This is a wonderful place to stay. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. A wonderful old home spotlessly clean. Lawrence felt like an old friend after our two night stay and I was sad to say goodbye. He cooked us two wonderful breakfasts. One day absolutely delicious home made French toast with perfectly cooked bacon, the next... More

Awesome bed and breakfast. Brilliant host. Fantastic farm fresh eggs cooked to perfection. French toast melts in your mouth. Loved this place and hope to visit again when in the area. Laurence is so nice and we had an epic stay at this bed and breakfast.

From the moment my wife and I arrived at the Holiday House in Bethel we were treated like family. Laurence makes you completely comfortable, and has outstanding visitor site information. My wife and I just loved the formal English accent with a touch of dry sense of humor. The Inn is in a great location in town, and was very... More
