Al and Jackie, the proprietors of the inn in their 15th year of operation, have converted a beautiful and quaint home tucked into a residential neighborhood in Bethel into a two room B&B. One room (the one we stayed in) has a room adjacent to it with a twin bed in addition to the bed in the main room. The... More

Rivendell B&B is THE best place to stay for close-by skiing (less than 10 minutes to Sunday River) or a relaxing vacation. Jackie and Allen welcomed us from the moment we walked in the door, and they made sure everything was perfect for our stay -- we even got to explore the large bookshelves in the hallway if we wanted... Besides the cleanliness of this cozy yet spacious B&B, what stood out the most was the friendly, welcoming owners. It seems as if they were meant to run this charming little place, with a great balance of when to engage in conversation and when to let us be. Their cooking was delicious, using local ingredients such as blueberries in the... More

I came up to Maine for a mini-skication with 2 girlfriends. We stayed at Rivendell House and literally could NOT have had a better experience. The rooms were cozy and perfect, location was great, and those breakfasts were simply amazing. An adorable house, a charming couple, and Alan's blueberry pancakes. I would 100% go again!

This is a small B&B family-run. We have been here a couple of times and liked it very much. Considering the average price for a room in the area this place is the best trade-off. The rooms are clean, very cozy and warm. The environment is very much family-like, it is like being part of the family, so if you... More

Just a small correction to the review - we are only 10 minutes by car to the closest base lodge at Sunday River, not 30 minutes. More

This was the smallest B&B we stayed at during our leaf peeping trip. Only 2 rooms available. What it meant was a very cozy and personalized atmosphere. Our hosts, Al and Jackie, were wonderful and made us feel like we were family. We loved swapping stories with them, and look forward to hopefully hosting them in the Philippines in the... More

We decided to stay in Bethel for a few nights on a recommendation from a friend and we are glad we did. The village is very pretty and unspoilt and has the great bonus of Rivendell House as a place to stay! Al and Jackie were the perfect hosts; we were treated like family and left feeling we had stayed... More

We are so grateful to our guests for their kind words. We try hard to make Rivendell House feel like home to all our guests and it is gratifying to get such lovely reviews. It is what makes us keep on doing this, even after 14 years! Happy traveling to all!! More

We loved Bethel and Rivendell. Small quaint B&B that was exactly what we expected. Made to order breakfast that was delicious. Walked to S.S Milton to eat dinner and hiked Graftons Notch close by. Al and Jackie made Bethel a great memory.

It was our anniversary and we wanted to do some hiking around Wild River. Rivendell House was just perfect for us! It was spotless inside and out. The flowers around the house were beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable and Al and Jackie were very gracious and accommodating. We would recommend this B&B very highly and plan to return! Thanks... More
