A beautiful lodge and cabins in the best Maine fishing tradition. Excellent for families with children, couples, groups of friends, folks needing a solo retreat for writing or reflection. Cabins are right on Salmon Lake, with wonderful swimming, canoeing, kayaking, birdwatching (eagles, osprey, loons, herons, many species of ducks and more), and a variety of motorboats fully equipped for fishing... My husband and I were here last week, the same days as Richelle (reviewed also).it was our first time at an American plan lodging. As I write this at 5pm, my husband asks--I wonder what Candee is having for dinner? The cabins are truly rustic but with every convenience you need. We wanted our own coffee maker and Candee had... If you want to get away and spend some quiet time on pretty lake, this is the spot. The cabins are rustic but clean and they well cared for by the family. The food is home-styled and very good. They will even pack a lunch for you to take on your adventure! i choose this Whisperwood because I wanted an... More

On the shores of Salmon Lake, arrive by car- or even better by boat! Walk to the lodge which is cozy, fishing theme- clean and friendly. The menu is extensive and gluten free options are fabulous! Kids love to see the pictures and read the fishing log. Boat rentals, cottages- a real treasure

If you love to fish, this is a great property. The food is plentiful and good (not great). Candee and Doug are friendly and helpful. The docks are a few feet from the adequate cabins. Best of all, the fishing is good. Lots of 3 and 4 pound bass (largemouth and small mouth) and some over 5lbs as well. eagles... More

We had over 20 people ranging in age from 4 to 98 staying in 5 cabins. The cabins are rustic and smallish but comfortable. They remind me of a 1960s fishing camp. On rainy days we either sat on the porch, went to the game room or donned raincoats and stayed outside. The Dining plan included in the cost offered... More

I stayed here for my son's college graduation. Candee and Doug bent over backwards to help - all while making it seemed effortless. Went our planned picnic lunch was rained out, they offered for 15 of us to use the dining room - providing all the dishes, silverware and glasses. The cabins are rustic, but nice. The location is beautiful,... More
