Recently remodeled, we really couldn't be happier with our recent stay at the YC. The room was clean and very well equipped with microwave, fridge, iron, etc. Housekeeping was on time & thorough. Our neighbors next door had an infant and toddler, but the walls must be well insulated, because we couldn't hear a peep from them, and the street... More

Cant say enough good about Yankee Clipper. Traveled to Maine less than two weeks ago, hubby and I stayed at a luxury hotel for three nights then at Yankee Clipper for three nights. The so called luxury hotel left alot to be desired. At Yankee Clipper loved the wooden floors, spacious, clean, renovated room and bath, housekeeping services wonderful and... More

This was our first ever stay in Belfast and we were pleasantly surprised by the Yankee Clipper Motel. The exterior is clean and inviting, but nowhere near as fabulous as the interior! First, we arrived as part of a medium-sized group very late at night after a long drive, and the owners were very accommodating with our schedule. The hotel... More

This place is NOT for the budget-minded, however much money the owners have spent on rescuing a perfectly average 1960s(?) building. I paid $139 with AAA discount, for a glorified motel room. Nicely refurbished indeed, but sticky pleather chairs, trendy sterile atmosphere, cold wooden floors, non-adjustable shower head, no shears to maintain privacy while allowing light into the room, entrances... We found this great motel after a long day's drive. New, clean and well furnished. Pleasant staff. Close to amenities. Very reasonably priced. Though close to the main road, noise was not a concern at all.

This totally rebuilt 1950's motel, while compact and simple, is equipped with finest quality furnishings and fixtures, the owners did it right! End room was nice and quiet except for an occasional big rig tripping their engine brakes, which might be remedied with a call to the local cops for some prohibitive signage. I think they either let out rooms... More

Just enjoyed two nights at the updated Yankee Clipper and it was a delight. The staff welcomed us with friendly smiles and the room was wonderfully updated and very clean. The convenience to locations around mid-Coast Maine was terrific and having Young's Lobster across the road made for great end of day eating. I think you cannot beat the value... More

My husband and I wanted to go up the coast of Maine and do some hiking. Belfast was a good central location since we wanted to hike around Camden first, then continue on to the Bucksport/ Ellsworth area. This motel was very clean and comfortable for our needs. It was great having a small refrigerator in the room for lunch... More

For a place to lay your head the Yankee Clipper was great. The rooms are really nicely done. However, it is NOT in Belfast and the footbridge that someone else mentions isn't really a very viable option - you'd have to walk several blocks on the side of a very busy highway to get to it which might be ok... Motel is right on busy route 1 at the edge of Belfast, ME. Great walk to town across the road, down the hill and across a scenic foot bridge. Driving to town was simple too, just a couple of right turns to get to city streets. Looks like an older motel from the outside, but the room was up to... More
