My husband and I wanted to go up the coast of Maine and do some hiking. Belfast was a good central location since we wanted to hike around Camden first, then continue on to the Bucksport/ Ellsworth area. This motel was very clean and comfortable for our needs. It was great having a small refrigerator in the room for lunch... More

For a place to lay your head the Yankee Clipper was great. The rooms are really nicely done. However, it is NOT in Belfast and the footbridge that someone else mentions isn't really a very viable option - you'd have to walk several blocks on the side of a very busy highway to get to it which might be ok... Motel is right on busy route 1 at the edge of Belfast, ME. Great walk to town across the road, down the hill and across a scenic foot bridge. Driving to town was simple too, just a couple of right turns to get to city streets. Looks like an older motel from the outside, but the room was up to... More

I traveled to Belfast from Boston for family issues and stopped very late night at Yankee Clipper and everything worked perfect: the online reservation, the cleanliness, the discrete but ready and helpful staff. Absolutely recommendable as and affordable and comfortable stay on the roadside of Maine

The Yankee Clipper is a completely remodeled motel. It's modern and comfortable and features the usual amenities: fridge, coffee pot and microwave. It's comfortable and of good value. Hugging the highway, it has no pleasant view and the vehicular traffic is steady, though the motel is quiet. A decent lodging to hang your hat for a night or two as... More

This is a great place to stop for an overnighter on the way up or down the coast. Just been completely refurbished and well-appointed on all counts. Great to discover the bonus of a guest laundry (not actually mentioned on the website so far as we can see). Belfast is also worth some exploration for the docks and the shops.

We just got back from a 3 night stay at the Yankee Clipper. We love when old 50's style motels are updated and the new owners here did a great job on this one. It is very clean and the beds very comfortable. I especially loved that the floors were hardwood (actually laminate) instead of carpeting that 9 times out... More

This is not a four diamond hotel so don't expect it to be. However as one who has stayed in hundreds of hotels all over America and Canada, I will tell you this is one of the cleanest rooms I have ever had. It has your basic needs. Comfortable beds. Coffee pot maker is a bit less than desirable but... More

Recently stayed overnight at the Yankee Clipper. Typical hiway motel. One floor, parking outside the door. The room was impeccably clean. The bathroom was supplied with toiletries and sufficient towels for two. The bed was comfortable and there wasn't any trouble sleeping. The night of our stay it was pouring rain which added a little atmosphere tothe evening. The office... More

This is a gem of a motel. Spent two nights there. The old mom and pop design meets the brand new construction and amenities. The best of both worlds. Our room was spacious and modern and very comfortable. Laundry facilities were outstanding. Friendly people at the desk. Close to the center of town. Perfect stay.
