I was a bit concerned because the lady on the phone pointed out that she, the owner, was living in the main house with us. We did have our own entrance and balcony. The room was very nice and roomy. We had our privacy and enjoyed our quiet. Bass Harbor is a relaxing village with several excellent restaurants within a... More

We took a 10 day tour of various locales in Maine, from Portland to Lubec, and our 3 nights in the rustic and comfortable Pine Cottage were our favorite. Connie graciously welcomed us and provided all we needed to get oriented to the cottage and to the quiet side of Acadia. There is a very nice screened in porch with... More

We stayed in Room 1 of the carriage house which was cozy, quaint, and comfortable. Sitting on the porch offered a lovely view. Bass Harbor is off the beaten track & much quieter than Bar Harbor, which is what we were looking for. Although we didn't stay in a cottage, they are quite large, with a kitchenette and several bedrooms.... More

Where can I start with the Bass Harbor Cottages. The most positive thing I can say is the location is beautiful. We love Bass Harbor. We don't love the Bass Harbor Cottages. I booked a room 3 months in advance with my credit card. I hadn't heard back on email so I called about 4 weeks before the trip. They... More

We recently stayed in the Pines cottage...2 Bedroom (2 twins in one, 1 double in the other) and it was perfect for our family of 4. Layout of cottage: The cottage was represented accurately on their website. It was clean (we didn't see any critters or bugs) and comfortable. Coming from a large home with multiple baths, modern appliances, we... More

We had a two bedroom unit. it had a kitchen and two bathrooms. Free wifi. Beautiful view from the porch. I was concerned at first because of the lack of air conditioning, but in the end was fine as the nights got quite cool. there were 2 fans, so i was fine. as a matter of fact my wife and... More

I stayed here for six nights with my family on a first time trip to Mount Desert Island. This is a great location with fine views from the 2bed/2 bath Boathouse cottage we rented. Easy to find and adequate parking. There is nothing much within walking distance but plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within a very short drive. Free... More

The two bedroom two bath cottage in the Boathouse overlooking the water was very comfortable and cozy. Connie was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This will be my first choice for my frequent business trips to Mt Desert Island. Just another thing to love about this beautiful part of New England.

I recently stayed at the Bass Harbor Cottages with my girlfriend, and we really enjoyed our stay. Connie, the inn keeper, was very friendly and easy to work with. It was a bit inconvenient to reserve the room, because we had to send a check in the mail and couldn't simply use a credit card to reserve online. I also... More

We booked a room at the inn for two nights on Labor Day weekend. My husband had explained to the innkeeper that we would be on the island to attend a wedding. We arrived to check in at 4:00 with just enough time to dress for the rehearsal dinner at 5:00. Unfortunately the innkeeper greeted us with "didn't you get... More
