I recently stayed at the Bass Harbor Cottages' Pine Cottage, which is tucked under some lovely pine trees at the shore line. We checked in a bit earlier than our arranged time of 4pm, but Connie (the owner) was extremely accommodating and we were able to be settled into our new home for a week by 330pm. I was shocked. The Bass Harbor Country Cottages and Country Inn should be called "Rooms to Let". We stayed in room 2 of the "Inn". There is nothing "inn-like" about the Bass Harbor Inn. The propietor was hostile (and I should say I am an easy going avid traveler and have a 'let's make this work' attitude). The 'innkeeper' demanded... more

My fiancé and I spent the weekend in Bass Harbor, at the Bass Harbor Cottages. We stayed in the Boat House, which gave us an awesome view of the harbor. The innkeepers let us know about the restaurants & entertainment, and even gave us maps so we could explore on our own. They had brochures and menus from local restaurants... more
