I have had family and friends stay here. They keep coming back. It has a B&B feel. There are some shared amenities for some rooms, but has an awesome location unparalleled from other establishments. The saltwater pool is not like a chlorinated pool and I expect most people find it unappealing because it is dark and a bit slippery like... More

The property has great views and seems like a great place to stay, but the management of this establishment is horrible. We had friends staying at this place who were refused restaurant service because they mistakingly booked them the same weekend the place was rented for a wedding. What the heck were they supposed to do for dining miles away... More

I recently visited this Inn on a trip to Maine and feel that there is a huge misrepresentation on the website of the amenities. A) Saltwater drained and not available for use and looks nothing like website picture B) upon arrival we were shown our room that was "trashed" and not ready for inhabitation - most importantly YOU SHARE A... Imagine the best of the old time Catskills - then add the Atlantic ocean; unbeatable view, unhurried atmosphere and unmatched solitude.... (sorry no croquet, or dirty dancing) - It is very clean and well maintained but a bit rustic. This is not a Hilton, squeaky clean, tile and 1200 count sheets type of place. It is clean, recently up-dated VERY... More

This was our second stay at the Driftwood Inn. Our first visit 8 years ago was on a whim and we were taken by the stunning location right at land's end. Our room had the most delightful view. This second time we returned on purpose for the reason of location, sea air, and the calming, inviting setting. The Inn is... More

We went for a quick visit. All my get -aways have to include a boat trip. We had a narrated ride on Casco Bay out of Portland. After a nice meal at Cook's we were fetched by a congenial driver and delivered to my childhood. Beautiful ledges, a beach, veranda, welcoming rockers, and a superb dining room. This is definately... This is it. TRUE Maine. Not too far up as to make a Maine trip overwhelming. Just east of Brunswick down a peninsula. The Driftwood Inn is NOT for high maintenance people. It is old-school cottages and shared baths (some have private bath). But you are there for the VIEW! Rocking chairs right on the ocean. Wind down and enjoy... More

Just got back from a stay at the Driftwood Inn over the Labor Day weekend. We had never been to Bailey Island before, but we decided on a whim on Friday to go away for the weekend. The Driftwood Inn was on the ocean, had vacancy, and I was especially excited to see that they advertised a saltwater pool since... More

We were fortunate to have a cabin but there are rooms available in the main buildings. The rooms are for sleeping only but there is ample public sitting area as to make it comfortable. The cabins vary in size but have all you will need ton stay a week or longer. I believe that it is the only place of... More

We have been visiting Bailey Island for many years and decided to try a different inn this year. Driftwood Inn is located near the end of the island in a beautiful rocky cove. The inn itself was built in 1905 so we expected it to be rustic, but it could definitely use some updates. The rooms are very small and... More
