We enjoyed an amazing day last weekend at their 4th annual open house tour. Wow! This place is a phenomenal well managed unique magical place. A Costa Rica must do if you value the jungle and all it's glory. They rent the tree houses out for the experience. I NEED to go back to spend a couple nights and take... More

It is hard to imagine what it will be like, to live in a treehouse. No matter how much I read, or how many questions we asked, nothing prepared us for finally seeing this piece of paradise. Casa Mariposa has tons of space so there was room for all of our belongings. We spent most of our time on the... More

The beautifully hand crafted tree houses located in a pristine rain forest give's you a sense of being totally alone with nature. We stayed a short 2 days and were able to explore some of the well marked trails, relax with a good book, enjoyed Erica and Matt's company at happy hour and had some inspiring meals provided by Rob.... My girlfriend and I spent eight nights at the Finca in Casa Peresoza. Because we ate all of our meals at the Community Center, I'm glad we chose Peresoza as the hike to some of the other treehouses is much further from base camp. Speaking of the meals, I found them to be outstanding. Rob makes it difficult not to... More

I loved being in the rain forest. It was a dream of mine to spend time and train in the rain forest and FBV made that possible for me to experience with my girlfriend who was not too keen on staying in the rain forest. In the end she was happy with her experience and for me a dream come... More

After a few days at the Finca I was already in love. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay there! The property is unreal with its remote, secluded, and pristine nature trails through the jungle. The scenic route from Casa Perezosa to the base camp follows a well-marked trail through the rainforest and across a hanging... More

I discovered an article in the newspaper a few years ago about this place and made a wish that someday I could go there and even own a treehouse. Finca Bellavista was founded to be a sustainable treehouse community. It's brilliant. We planned our trip to Costa Rica so we could visit and experience this lifestyle. We stayed in the... More

From the moment we set foot at the Finca, we were made to feel right at home. During our first community dinner, we got to know Rob, the chef, who agreed to make us gumbo the next night when he found out we were from Louisiana. He followed through, and I swear I was transported back home for a second... More

My buddy and I stayed for a week in el castillo in June. The staff there is extremely nice and helpful. Mateo and Erica are excellent hosts! Everyone was easy going and easy to talk to. I had the pleasure of getting to connect with the volunteers during the day and happy hour at night. Christian, Matt, Kelly, Sam, and... More

Finca was the highlight of our trip to CR. The tree houses were gorgeous, the surrounding nature, especially the river and the waterfalls were something only God could create, but the best part of all was the people. The owners were in Colorado at the time, so our hosts were volunteers and a few long term employees. Rob, Kelly and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Finca Bellavista is a treehouse community in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica! We are a rustic, yet comfortable, private retreat off the beaten path where owners and guests can explore the natural wonders of the rainforest canopy and enjoy what we like to call ‘treetop Pura Vida’. You definitely won’t find flashy billboards or roadside signs that lead you to Finca Bellavista… Finca Bellavista is not a full-service spa, a fancy hotel, or a canopy tour. We are located in an amazing and relatively untouched portion of Costa Rica that is removed from many of the influences of the outside world. The nearest town (1.5 miles away) contains a school, a church, a pulperia, a bus stop, a handful of houses, and of course, a soccer field. That’s it. No souvenir shops, no mini-malls, and no rowdy bars. Finca Bellavista is for the true traveller who wants to experience something truly different and special. We have acres of forest and gardens to explore, refreshing rivers, birdwatching, a botanical trail, and much more. We look forward to hosting you in our home! ... more   less
