What an amazing place in the Costa Rica rainforest. Since we saw the House Hunters Off the Grid show, we knew we had to come to experience the Finca. We stayed in the Cabina Colibri, and we were comfortable in the cozy jungalow with its lovely front deck. The staff made the cabina inviting with the floral arrangements and decorative... More

Staying at Finca Bellavista is truly a one-of-a-kind experience for the adventurous at heart. I've been thinking about coming here for about two years, since reading an article, and when I saw the episode of "House Hunters Off The Grid" earlier this year, I knew it was time. If you decide to come, read the website and listen to the... More

We stayed in the treehouse called Casa Mariposa for our honeymoon, and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Extremely private & romantic. We spent our mornings having coffee on the deck which had an amazing view 40 feet above the forest floor. Natural swimming holes were very close by, and we loved doing the zip-line that ran... More

Quite an exciting and surreal place! If you want to enjoy a relaxing 5 minutes whilst looking out over the rainforest canopy, or live and sleep 30m above the ground, be woken up by birds and go exploring for snakes, insects and lizards just a few steps from your front door... then you're in the right place! Definitely somewhere to... More

Thank you for the review! Our apologies for the electricity issues - getting a solar technician out on a call can be a long wait and is never an exact science. Hopefully the entirety of the issue was explained upon granting the additional discount. We try our hardest to keep our services and tours at a lower and competitive price... More

My Husband and I stayed in one of the lower to the ground tree houses close to base camp. At first, we were a little sad we hadn't gotten up in one of the tall tree houses that really felt like tree houses (Some of the tree houses though technically tree houses are low to the ground), but then we... Thanks for the review! You nailed it, the crew (Amy, Matt, Rob to name a few) are what makes the finca really special. The base camp can be very peaceful, yet is close to everything and is the hub of the community, for those that are a little more cautious about being immersed in the jungle. We hope to see... More

I spent 7 nights at FInca Bellavista in August 2014. I stayed by myself in Castillo Mastate. I rented a car in case I got there and found I got bored. Here is what I thought of it all. 1. On what to take. You watched the videos, right? You know you need to bring your own wellies (rubber boots)... More

Thank you for your VERY thorough and informative review! I hope this helps lots of other people know what to expect prior to making a reservation and visiting us. We get quite a few solo travelers, so it's great for people to understand what the commitment level is prior to booking on their own. We hope your 40th year is... More

First off read and watch the videos on their website. Second, it is a lot of hiking so if that's not your thing pick a different place. You can either take a bus to Golfito or a small plane (nature air is what I flew) and the views from the plan are awesome and cuts traveling time in half. My... More

We loved our stay here. It was work getting to and from the tree house, but the website warns you about that. So make sure to read carefully and be ready for long hikes if you're far away. We stayed during the quarter-finals weekend in July. The owners had just gotten TV and had an impromptu party with food and... More
