When visiting Louisiana The Myrtles was my first planned stop. Was beautiful. Took the history tour and did some wandering around outside. All of the staff were very helpful and very pleasant. Unfortunately we were unable to stay overnight here due to time but someday I will! And don't forget to try the pralines from the gift shop. The best... More

My husband and I stayed here recently on a lark, after watching some of the youtube videos, and reading reviews. The plantation house is indeed creepy...especially if old dusty unlevel houses creep you out. We did enjoy the tour by the sweet lady tour guide, though I cannot remember her name. We ate at the carriage house and the food... More

We stayed 2 days and had a great time. There 8 of us and the 2 cabins were new and we had enough sleeping space for everyone. The food at the restaurant was very good and the staff were excellent. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. One bad thing bring bug spray.

The people at Myrtles Plantation are some go ol' southern hospitality individuals. My family took a vacation here and the New Orleans area and they made them feel right at home. I showed up a day late and unexpected and the staff greeted me with the southern hospitality you would expect from lousiana. We ate multiple meals on the plantation... More

If you love history and paranormal experiences this place is awesome..! I smelt a wonderful old perfume smell that moved around and even followed me outside. Also felt electric little shocks on my face while sleeping. If you want the real deal go here. Everyone was very nice.

Myrtles is a great piece of land, full of history. Visited with my sister because she became interested in the paranormal after watching a show about this plantations history. Took the tour, which is very short and you arent allowed to take photos. But I was able to capture a possible ghost outside on the grounds, which was exciting! For... More

Okay, if you are looking to stay at the the Myrtles, you probably know all about the ghosts because the Myrtles appears on every Halloween Travel channel show. It's defintiely not fancy but has a wonderful staff, and the tour is quite interesting. We stayed in the Oleander room (garden room) and although there was no tv and no shower... More

My husband and I stayed in the Ruffin Stirling Room on September 20th, 2014. It is NOT the Ritz,so if you are going there for TV and other amenities you are going for the wrong reason! The place is over 200 years old and steeped in history, enjoy. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The entire staff is awesome:)... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Magnolia room. It was lovely. We did the history tour and we did the mystery tour. The mystery tour was a bit of a replay of the history tour but the guy doing the tour was amazing. The main house was simply brilliant. We didn't participate in walking the grounds at night (plan...
