My husband and I were here 15 years ago for a getaway and enjoyed it so much, we just had to come back. We stayed in the Pool cottage both times. I have to say that I think the exact same furniture was still there. The grounds are beautiful, as well as the cottages. I love the rustic appeal to... More

This was my family's second time to stay at the Butler Greenwood. The first time we stayed in the Pond House and this time we stayed at the Pool Pavilion which was wonderful as well. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The porch on the pool house is a great place to sit and enjoy... More

So good to return to our extended family for a long overdue visit and some quite time. My wife and I have been coming to Butler Greenwood since 1992 and always make this our first choice to stay. Over the years our visits would be 1-3 times a year and always left refreshed. We had decided to stay at a... More

We had a nice visit here and enjoyed staying in the Treehouse. We had a leisurely walk around the grounds in the evening. The accommodations were nice enough, but they are average and a bit worn. The breakfast was as others described....a ziploc bag of croissants in the fridge, a couple of storebought individually wrapped muffins, bottles of milk and... More

If you are looking for new, entertaining, and modern pass this place up. On the otherhand if you are looking for quiet, romance and historical beauty this nails it. We stayed in the cottage called the Gazebo on the property. Even when the other cabins were occupied it was like we were the only 2 people on earth. We saw... More

You know,in response to the July 28 posting "In serious need of TLC and owner..." I think we just got off on the wrong foot and everything from there on was viewed negatively. The guest was right that she should have been welcomed more warmly; the owner had every right to be dismayed to find someone wandering around her private... More

I have written many property reviews over the years and have yet to write a negative review, until now. Most negative reviews I find are quite honestly from very picky people who will complain at anything. This review however I do think that people should pay attention to the feedback. I had read in reviews that the woman who owns... More

I can assure you that linens are changed after every check-out, and it is not possible to see through the wooden blinds from the outside in. We are sorry you did not care for our facilities or our owner, who really does react negatively when people simply walk into her private home without knocking or ringing the bell as the... More

We stayed here 2 nights in 'The old kitchen' which was old and not very well maintained. The breakfast was included, but was not fit for human consumption, except for the coffee and the banana. May I suggest that you try another house than 'The old kitchen' or altogether a different place. Or at least bring your own breakfast. But you... More

Take a step back in time and discover the peaceful surroundings you will find here. From the variety of plant and animal life that you will see, to the historical attributes of the property, and a most gracious host made our stay unforgettable. You lose all sense of time, where the past blurs with present. Tall oak trees, draped in... More

My husband and I recently spent the night at this enchanting historical bed and breakfast. The cottages are beautiful and the owner was a wonderful person with much information that helped guide us for our day of hiking at Clark Creek.I agree with the owner about the recent post of the rude travellers who invited themselves onto the property without... My mother rented Chase's Cottage and as soon as we arrived we knew that two nights would not be enough! We were immediately filled with a sense of beauty and peace. We spent three quiet evenings sitting on the porch, grilling dinner and drinking wine as we watched the birds fly over the little pond and a peacock march about... More

It's so nice when guests really let go of the urban rush/rush and can relax and enjoy a little peace and quiet here. That's really what we offer, so we love it when we see it working. Thanks so much for understanding! More
