We were looking for a stopping point on our way through Louisiana and also wanted to visit the Tabasco bottling facility. Seeing that New Iberia was "right next door" I went to their web site and found a link to the B&B's in the area. One stood out over the rest; Bayou Teche Guest Cottage. Looking at the photos on... Bayou Teche Cottage was everything I hoped for and more. I traveled to New Iberia because I wanted to experience a Louisiana I had only read about. Yes, the trip was about writer James Lee Burke, but I loved southwest Louisiana well past the literary connection. The cottage is on property James Lee Burke’s grandfather once owned and offers a... We had a great time at the Bayou Teche Cottage. Check-in could not be easier. Gayle was very polit and easy to work with and catered to our needs nicely. She had check in all set up for us when we showed up, and on the hot summer day I was cool as soon as we entered the cabin. I... More

A cozy cabin in a park at Teche river. The only cabin on site. Very peaceful. Fine bedroom and bath. Living room with kitchenette with microwave and seating. Small outdoor porch and garden table. We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights and ate our breakfast outside in the stunning parkland with river views. It's a real feel-good place. It's... More

This guest cottage is on a beautiful property in a quaint town. The cottage is comfortable and very nice.It is within walking distance to the downtown area of New Iberia and The Shadows Plantation. The hostess-Gayle, provides a wonderful breakfast and is very familiar with the area. She can help you decide what to see and where to eat. I... More

After reading the rave reviews we decided to stay at the Guest Cottage. We were disappointed. Yes Gayle is a very nice person. She is casual and laid back. Maybe she should be a little less laid back when it comes to maintaining the Guest Cottage. It is rustic and old - which I know is supposed to be part... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time relaxing at the Bayou Teche Guest Cottage. We look forward t returning soon. Charming and in walking distance to everything downtown. It was easy to find, central to everything we wanted to see. We even took a quick morning trip to Jefferson Island. Jim Burke

My family of 4 had a delightful stay. Gayle is awesome! The cottage is so unique and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. We felt as if we were experiencing the true cajun life on the bayou. The location was great to restuarants, downtown, and other points of interest. Our son loved kayaking in front of our cottage. We feel... More

If you want to experience the true essence of New Iberia, Bayou Teche Guest Cottage is the place for you. The cottage is an authentic Acadian Cottage, well over 100 years old, situated right on the Bayou Teche. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and manicured. The owner is very knowledgeable and gracious. The cottage was clean, cute, bug and odor... More
