This was our first trip to Natchitoches (which by the way is a Caddo Indian name that is pronounced like Nak'-uh-tish). Don't even look at the name when you try to pronounce the name as the letters and the pronunciation have nothing in common! We are history buffs and wanted to be close to the historic downtown, plus be able... More

Gary: You and Barbara were a delight to have as guests. Your own travel experiences helped us to relive some of our own and dream about places we want to go again in the future. Our best to you both on your future travels and stop by again when you are this way, even if it is just to sit... More

We stayed for 2 nights in April at Chez des Amis and could not have had a more welcoming, lovely time. Jim & Scott were such gracious hosts, even inviting us to programs at the local university, which we really appreciated. Jim is a marvelous cook (the curried eggs benedict and crepes were delicious) and Scott makes a mean whiskey... More

We had not been to Natchitoches in a long time so when we planned on visiting friends over New Year's near Hope, Arkansas, we decided to swing through Natchitoches to catch the tail end of the annual holiday lights. I travel on business and spend a lot of time in "name" hotels so when my wife and I travel on... More

We recently visited Natchitoches for the Christmas festival and stayed at the Chez des Amis bed and breakfast. It's conveniently located only a couple of blocks from Front Street. Jim and Scott, our hosts, were friendly and made us feel at home. They are very knowledgeable of the area and were very helpful. Jim’s cooking skills are wonderful and we... More

Clean, comfortable, and interesting home. Plenty of privacy. Very close to area attractions. Very nice gardens surrounding the home. The best part though are your hosts Jim and Scott. They are nice, charming, accommodating and interesting. They've been in Natchitoches for several years so they're a great source for local information and recommendations.

"The Chez Des Amis" Natchitoches, LA is a great example of why we need to get off the interstate, take a break from chain lodging, and see America. We did just this and found a gem in the "Chez Des Amis".Guests will enjoy the historic downtown of Natchitoches with it's fabulous shopping and dining and it's look of the New Orleans... This is a unique B&B in that it's hosts are truly a pleasure to stay with. They are bright and traveled. A treasure trove of information is at your disposal between them. The room was most comfortable and the location to the river was a very short walk. Breakfast was good and had some nice unexpected touches to it. Jim... More

We can echo other reviews- the food is delicious, Jim is an excellent Chef, he and Scott are warm gracious hosts. It is also great conversation- they have traveled the world, lived and worked in exotic lands, Jim has taught English, Biological Science at the university level- great fun to talk to them. Relaxing, enjoyable stay. Linda and Stan

Jim and Scott made us feel at home straight away. They were full of advice on where to eat and what to visit. Jim's breakfasts are excellent and he is happy to share the recipes! A great location; just a short stroll from the old town along the pavement/sidewalk.

Thanks. It was a joy sharing the Northwestern State University dance department's concert while you two were here. We enjoy sharing the talents of the performing arts students with you. We appreciate that you chose us to stay with and look forward to seeing you in your travels. More
