It was the only hotel we could find near the end of the River Road while touring the antebellum plantation houses. We almost missed the sign on I-310.
It was overpriced -- the room and bath were only average in size and furnishings. The carpet needed vacuuming and the bathroom had a dead caterpillar and hair on the floor. The coffee maker was missing the lid from the reservoir. The desk lamp was minus its on-off switch. The first floor ice maker was broken. The stairs to the second floor needed new carpet as the carpet was thin and torn in places. It had not been vacuumed recently. The only double rooms had double beds (no queen-sized beds). The mattresses were comfortable and the towels were decent. The hotel was quiet.
The clerk gave us breakfast chits for the restaurant next door. There we were allowed to select a continental breakfast from a small selection of bagels, mini-donuts, and English muffins. We were baffled why only Decaf coffee was...
