Just got back from stopping at Eastside for the 6th time. The hosts Elaine and Mike are so welcoming, the breakfasts are great... nothing too much trouble, great value for money and the rooms have all been recently redecorated. The countryside around is absolutely beautiful with a lovely local country pub a short walk away. Its great to find somewhere... More

Upon arrival I was told to park on the side road as my vehicle was too big to go under the arch in the house. So I parked on the side road which was unlit and very wet and muddy. I was taken up to my room which was a twin room, however I had booked a double but as... More

Spent a night here in October 2011, a warm welcome from Elaine & their Spaniel, the en-suite studio was well equipped & spacious, with everything you'd need for a longer stay. Great selection of teas & coffees and cereal bars too. A comfortable night's sleep in a comfortable & calm room, followed by a tasty, plentiful & varied breakfast. We'll... More

I wish I could say something nice about this place because the owners were lovely. But I can't - the room was HORRIBLE!!! It seems they can't be bothered to keep it clean. Whatever you do, don't book the baby cot - the ancient mattress was stinking with mould, even through several layers of blankets and sheets. The cot was... More

A welcoming Log fire in the spacious lounge to warm the rest of the guest house and a glass of wine, lovely after few hours drive. Our room was spacious with all the amenities needed. Enjoyed a cooked breakfast in the... More

Stayed one night, place is dated and not very clean with marks on the carpet. On arrival we went into the room which had a bad stale smell although the windows were open, this could be down to dogs being allowed into the rooms. The bed linen had been cleaned although there was a stains on one of the sheets... More

We were looking for a B&B in the Basingstoke area attending a family wedding and stayed at Eastside in the scenic village of Mapledurwell. Just a a couple of miles outside Basingstoke. We had a very nice comfortable spacious room and enjoyed very nicely home cooked English Breakfasts on the three days we stayed. I would recommend this B&B if... More
