It certainly was not for us! A lot of the people there seemed to love it! I found it dirty&dusty (brought on BOTH of our allergies pretty strongly). The kitchen is TINY and making food is such an ordeal due to this. When we arrived we were told they had given our room to people who had arrived without a... More

We eventually arrived in the middle of nowhere and found a dump. We had booked a private twin room but this was actually a double bed in a freezing, damp and filthy caravan. Not what we booked! I can't be completely sure but I'm 90% certain I overheard them saying the people who had been in a caravan didn't like... More

Booked this for a few nights as the hostel booking website hinted the place was quirky and offered a hostel in a rural setting, which it was. But by no means is this place a hostel. It is a shack full of hippies, though they were friendly on arrival and offered tea. We booked a double room on a hostel... More

You can join the vegan/vegetarian meals for just $3-6. At night everyone gatters around the fire to sing, play guitar and drink a beer.... More

Wonderful little backpackers hostel on the edge of Auckland. Very community focused, like a big little family! Everyone is introduced to each other and a big shared dinner if available at the end of the day - the food is great and a lot picked straight from the organic garden. Great permaculture and organic techniques - fire bath! Chickens, herb... More
