We had the pleasure of staying 4 days at the gorgeous home of Tim and Debbie's in Bayou country. Tim is an extraordinary force of nature. Having served over 30 years as the Judge in Houma he knows the history and stories of the land. The home they live in is the home where Tim was born and raised. It... More

Beautiful, comfortable old(ish) house in the heart of Cajun country. When we arrived, owners Tim & Debbie were eating (and shared generously with us) very very fresh big shrimp boil, under the shadow of spreading grand Live oaks. No assurance that your timing will be as good, but you can count on a comfortable, well kept room, and on a... More

The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Among the other good food, they served delicious fruit. They have the tastiest grapefruit. I never liked grapefruit until I tasted theirs. I would stay there again if I were in Houma.

We stayed one night (3/18) in the Garconiere Suite. Beginning with our friendly greeting from Debbie, everything was wonderful. In the evening, we sat outside enjoying a beer and visiting with the Judge (Tim) and his assistant Chris for a couple of hours. They had great stories about the area and especially snake catching from back in the day. We... More

We had an excellent stay at the Grand Bayou Noir, which made our trip to Lousiana even more enjoyable. The house and property are both gorgeous and beautifully maintained, and the room was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed talking with the host Tim and learning about the region. Tim gave us great suggestions for restaurants and visits, and helped... More

We didn't know what to do once we were in Houma. We had only booked the 'Grand Bayou Noir' and made no more plans! Fortunately we met Tim, the owner of the guest house. When we arrived he was squeezing fresh oranges and pomelos (that we will drink and eat at the breakfast the next day!) and told us everything... More

Some friends gave us a travel section article about a B & B in Houma, La. We were not planning on going to Houma, but we changed our plans a bit and headed to Grand Bayou Noir. We arrived at an old southern mansion and we were greeted by Tim, a retired judge (he didn't look old enough to be... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2015

My husband and I enjoyed a one night stay in February. We were given a complimentary upgrade to the larger suite room, which was really beautiful, and much more spacious than most B&B rooms we have stayed in. The hosts were lovely, and were available if we needed them, but not at all intrusive. The estate is in a good... More

Grand Bayou Noir has a magical quality that you will feel as soon as you turn onto the circular drive. Thanks to the hospitality and generosity of hosts Debbie and Tim, you will find your stay to be memorable. My husband and I were celebrating his late November birthday. Even though Houma had already experienced several days of freezing temperatures,... More

It was my husband and I's 7 year wedding anniversary and we chose this BandB. We drove up to the property and was immediately greated by Tim the owner. He was peeling shrimp and offered us some he had boiled earlier. We stayed in the suite. It was spacious and very beautiful. The bed was so comfortable and the spa... More
