We have just returned from best luxury B&B in the most peaceful rural setting that we have ever experienced. Mary Anne is the most welcoming and caring hostess, who could not have done more to make us welcome and comfortable. Our spotless twin bedded en suite room was large, warm, and tastefully furnished with antiques. The comfortable beds had excellent... More

A great place to stay if you want to switch off for a while. Rectory Farm is full of character. Robert and Mary Anne were so accommodating, an invisible presence in the background, always there to help if needed. We were welcomed into the family home and felt completely at ease. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large with... More

We came from the hustle and bustle of London to arrive in one of the most peaceful and welcoming BnB's I've ever stayed in. Lovely house and lovely hosts. Mary Anne was there to welcome us with freshly baked cakes (yum). The room was very pleasant, that perfect mix of all the modern comfort (great shower!!!) with that Good Ol'... More

If you want a peaceful break in the English countryside you could not do better than Rectory Farm. We have stayed there 3 times now but this was our first experiment with a week long stay in Orchard Cottage. We have stayed in a variety of holiday cottages and never found one so thoughfully and fully equipped. (North American visitors... More

Very much in the middle of nowhere - England at its best! We enjoyed a very pleasent stay in a house, where we had a huge room and a dining room almost on our own. Wonderful conversations with our hosts as long as we asked for it. Explicit recommendation!

Such a beautiful house built in the 1600s I spent two night here one with my son the night before my wedding and one with my new wife. Mary anne helped me, my best man and my ushers put our buttonholes on properly which was very nice. Breakfast was amazing especially the warm muffins my son doesn't eat much usually... More

We stayed for 6 days with our young children at Rectory Farm, Carter's Cottage. The Cottage was very welcoming, and PERFECTLY clean. Everything in the house looked lovely, well thought, and ready for the guests to enjoy. Even the fireplace was ready for us, with paper and small pieces of wood to start the fire! There is also a very... More

Mary Anne greeted us with fantastic shortbread cookies and sent us to the best local pub. The room was very well set up with there suite. We went on a recommended footpath to the Thames and the Northmoor Locks. Loved it..

I stayed at the Rectory Farm overnight whilst I was walking the Thames Path. The host, Mary Anne, made me feel extremely welcome and was very attentive. She recommended the local pub for my evening meal (turned out to be a great recommendation!) and kindly phoned them to make a reservation on my behalf. Breakfast the following morning was more... This place is in Sawday's so I knew it would be good. The bedroom might not be the most luxurious I've ever seen, though perfectly lovely and comfortable, but the welcome and the facilities of this mellow old farmhouse are excellent, from the comfy sitting room with woodburner to the lush food and tea and cake provided by Mary Anne...
