If you're into Zydeco dancing in Breaux Bridge, this is the place to stay on a Friday night for the Saturday morning dancing at Cafe Des Amis around the corner. You get a breakfast coupon at the restaurant, and the location is perfect for walking. The room itself was nice enough. Well decorated, quiet, and comfortable. However, we did not... More

Pros - Centrally located within a short walk from restaurants and cafes - Atmospheric old house nicely renovated - Antique furnishings and tastefully decorated (Room No 1) - Nice back garden leading down to bayou (though noisy as it's also next to the main road) Cons - Owner not on site which can be inconvenient if you have questions or... My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary with a trip to Louisiana. I chose this B&B because it was in Breaux Bridge and we planned to enjoy Café des Amis. From the photos it looked romantic and it’s clear that a lot of work was put into renovating and choosing the period pieces that were in Room 2... More

Just back from a trip to Louisianna. We stayed at the Maison des Amis for one night and, overall, had an acceptable time. The Inn is quaint and the owners have obviously done a great job renovating it over the years. We stayed in Room #1. The room was clean. We felt the housekeeping could have been better. The drapes... Quaint, clean and all was fine! Just want to say a few things not in the extensive reviews here. Rooms 3 and 4 are listed as having private baths but they are down the hall. The 'hall' is actually a glass enclosed narrow side porch. The baths have old claw foot tubs w showers that could be really tricky for... More

We stayed in Room 2. We absolutely loved the room. It was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was adjoining plenty big enough. There was a shower along with the large clawfoot tub. When you finished with your soak you could enjoy their complementary bathrobes. The location of our room was great. We didn't have anyone walking past our room because... More

Stayed here one night whilst on a road trip. Cute old fashioned place. We stayed in the Boudier room at the front which had great a/c as it was very hot outside. The breakfast is in the form of a voucher that you take to the Café Des Amis which we thought was great. At the back of the property... More

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable accommodation. Very romantic surroundings. Friendly greeting. Antique furnishings lovely but not quietly discreet for a romantic evening. Coffee on site robust. Would have been better with real milk instead of powdered creamer. Luxurious linens & towels. The all night porch light poured into our room with drapes fully closed.

This B&B is absolutely charming. We stayed 2 nights in the Teche Room. The decor in that room is very eclectic. It's located the farthest away from the front of the maison and closest to the gardens and the Bayou Teche. It was lovely to just step out onto the porch and enjoy the view. It did rain a good... We stayed for just one Saturday evening for an anniversary getaway from New Orleans to Breaux Bridge, and it was delightful. As it turned out, we were the only ones there, in front room on Rue Washington. Nice room, large attached bath (my wife loved the claw-foot tub), very comfortable, nice period decor, and a pleasant tabby cat out on... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming Caribbean/Creole residence, Maison des Amis overlooks lush gardens, which lead to a charming white gazebo that sits over the legendary Bayou Teche. Built around 1870/1880 and known as the "Boudier" house, it is the oldest historic structure along with the "City Hotel." Completely restored in the mid 1990s and conveniently located in the downtown historic district of Breaux Bridge; one block from antique stores, gift shops, restaurants, and cafes. The inn consists of four guestrooms, each with its own private bath, antique furnishings and direct access to the porch overlooking the gardens and bayou. Famous Louisianan designers decorated the guestrooms. Each guestroom has high ceilings and old cypress long leaf pinewood floors, and is decorated with original art. Guests can relax in the glassed-in sun porch, stroll in the lush landscaped gardens or read the daily paper in the rattan rocking chairs in the gazebo. Complimentary beverages and daily maid service are provided with a personal touch. General tour information is available. Upon request, our manager can create a tailored tour to meet your personal needs.Guests receive a complimentary Cajun-style breakfast at the world famous Café des Amis restaurant or Chez Jacqueline. ... more   less
