Renaissance hotel in Baton Rouge, is a fine Marriott property. Rooms are comfortable, nicely appointed. Location is great. All the amenities until you want to get on-line. Then you will need to go to the lobby or pony up $10 to get on-line. Really?! In the 21st century wifi is infrastructure like electric lights. Enjoy the hotel, but leave your... More

Upon checking in, my room smelled like stale carpet, several rooms were offered before we found one clean. Upon returning to my room day 2, room had strong smell of marijuana...closed smelled of it. Manager moved me to another room, which also had the odor...upon investigating, it was stated that they confirmed it was marijuana was creating the odor. After... More

I lived in Baton Rouge for four years before moving and I just got to stay at the Renaissance last weekend. It was by far the best hotel in BR. I stayed one night with my fiancé and we frequented the bar the watch the NFL playoff games. Bartenders were friendly and talkative and the place has a luxurious five-star... More

When in BR, this is out go-to hotel. The service is always wonderful, accommodations are clean and comfortable, and it is located in the middle of everything. We even had a minor maintenance issue this time (at 10:30pm), and the maintenance man was up within five minutes -- very pleased. My only problem is the air conditioner and its eco-thermostat,... This is now my go to hotel in BTR and the one I recommend to travelers. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very nice especially the mini suites, which give you a nice sitting area and quite a bit more space than the regular rooms. I especially like the faux alligator wall coverings on the bathrooms. There is... More

We booked a "concierge level" room for Dec 31st on our return trip from visiting family. The Original booking was AAA$189/nt (I don't care for advance paid in full- $179). A few days before, I called and asked for a larger room (wiling to pay extra). receptionist upgraded me to Superior room with Concierge access for same price. I was... More

I was staying for business and traveling with my wife. The location is great as the have a shuttle to Perkins Rowe and the mall. My only complaint is the service in the concerige lounge. The food presentation was left messy and the attendant was not engaged. That's a first for me as a Marriott Platinum member. The huddle rooms... More

I have stayed at several Renaissance hotels and this was my favorite. The rooms are spacious and very nicely done and the service was excellent. The bathroom was perfect with a large shower and nice decor along with the higher quality products that Renaissance offers. The room service I had was excellent with a nice locally themed menu. The hotel... More
