The Potter's Inn is a small bed and breakfast located the quaint town of Wilmore, KY. Coffee and sandwich shops, as well as Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary are only a few blocks away. Shaker Village, Keeneland, and Kentucky Horse Park are a short drive from the Inn. The Inn is owned by potter and former Asbury University art professor Rudy Medlock. His work is displayed throughout the Inn and is available for sale to all guests at a 20% discount. The entire house is decorated with antique decor to match this historical home. Three of the guest rooms have ensuite bathrooms; the fourth has a private bathroom across the hall. Breakfast is available for guests. There are two common meeting areas as well as a dining room. But the favorite meeting place is the huge wraparound porch with numerous rockers and cafe tables, perfect for an evening of relaxation or conversation with friends. Coffee and tea are available at all times. There are two small refrigerators available for guest use.
I’d never stayed in a B&B before. Let me tell you, this one is awesome. 1.) I got the best night of sleep I’ve had in years. 2.) The history of the 1800s home is quite captivating. 3.) Owned by a former art professor, the home is packed with wonderful pottery (hence the name) and lots of hanging art. 4.) The innkeeper Linda is an absolute delight. 5.) The breakfast portion of the B&B tag was lovely. 6.) Did I mention what a wonderful night’s sleep I got?! That bed was perfect! Granted, The Potter’s Inn is less than five minutes from the Asbury campus so perfect for my adventures north, but it is also only ten minutes from Nicholsville and less than 30 from Rupp. Wilmore is a darling town with a few nice shops including my favorite Shades of Bluegrass and a unique eatery and coffee shop. In other words, it’s worth the drive to this sweet little place at least once. With prices on the rise in every element of life, I was pleasantly surprised with the affordability of this lodging, too! I will without doubt return.…

Welcoming and warm is not even accurate enough to describe my stay. Linda is wonderful and gives you the feel of being in your own home. The porch is so relaxing. The bed was perfect. Affordable is an understatement. 10/10 in my book.

Growing up, I had a very good friend who's home had a very similar architecture, decor and atmosphere. I had some of the best experiences of my life there. The Potter's Inn feels like coming home. I shall return.

A perfect place to stay! Everything's so clean it sparkles. Beautifully decorated and comfortable furnishings make for a relaxing and peaceful stay. Linda is so gracious and a lovely innkeeper. We will return to The Potter's Inn every time we visit the Wilmore vicinity. It's a home away from home!

This place is ahhhhmazing!! A definite must stay when in Wilmore or visiting Asbury Univ. The staff was extremely accommodating, helpful, always available, and extremely friendly. The Inn is a one of a kind and features thousands of unique handcrafted pottery that should most definitely be world famous. All of it is available for purchase too. The Bedroom was quaint, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious ! We will definitely be returning to stay soon and I have recommended this place to everyone heading that way. It was the perfect place to enjoy the revival. A true God send. Please book a room here and see for yourself!

While the manager was off-site, she answered the phone every time I called. Despite not being there to make breakfast, a varied spread of oatmeal, fruit, granola bars, bagels, etc. were at our disposal, as was plenty of teas and coffee. The manager's son hosted us, and was exceptionally kind and accommodating. The bed and chair were extremely comfortable, and there was a cot in the closet, which means the room (which was big enough) could have easily fit three-four. The house's beauty is unparalleled, and we were thoroughly satisfied with our stay. If I ever stay in Wilmore, I'm definitely going to stay here, especially for the extremely reasonable price.

The inn is a beautiful 1800's home and had many antiques, pottery and books. It is comfortable and has a warm feel to it. Lucia, the innkeeper does a remarkable job. She was polite, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was specific to dietary needs and delicious. The bed I slept in (room 2) was extremely comfortable and I am a picky sleeper. My friend had a different room and wasn't quite as thrilled about her bed. I would definitely return here. If it wasn't so far away I would return just for the relaxation. Additionally, I was surprised to receive a package from Lucia a week after we returned home. I had left an outfit and didn't realize it and Lucia mailed it to me with the kindest note. I do not leave many reviews but my experience was so good I felt I needed to comment.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The inn seems ideal for couples and retreats with a good friend. It was a welcome respite after my work. Cozy atmosphere, peaceful sleeping, attentive innkeepers and great food. We spent pleasant mornings and evenings in the rocking chairs on the wraparound porch. Check out the gorgeous pottery pieces, and, yes, enjoy the sound of trains, really not a liability for a lovely, relaxing time.

We were visiting family in the area and booked Potters Inn for a Saturday night. Lucia greeted us and was a great hostess, always eager to help and to make sure we had what we needed. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, with a private bathroom, and we slept very well! The upstairs common room was very pleasant for sitting to read or watch TV. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the front porch rockers are so inviting! The Inn is close to town and a nice area to walk. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet our stay was, even though there was another family in the Inn. We will be back!
